Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

Personal cow Caity has heard my prayers and gotten into mommy’s makeup again! Plus, an exciting new project...
Something about how she shoops herself for these makeup posts makes her look on the hard side of 35 to me. Guess it’s the over-correcting for thin cred.

Speaking of thin cred:

Can’t wait to try the technicolor ana-chan toobie treats!

Should be fun to learn toob treats which are accidentally calorie and easy to purge drain because you know how spoonies can't handle anything in their system because of. eating disorders undiagnosed condished which your google dr totally diagnosed but the real blood and flesh dr who is needed to administrator and write prescription for your totally unnessary toys will tell you don't have unless your paying for their new boat or sports car. Then sure you want a two week admission for a ingrown toenail Would you like the OR or bedside treatment?

I was kind of surprised that wacjaq didn't go down the whole natural everything made in my super special medical blender. I guess a kickback from Kate farms and the people googling her as a result

DPMIW must have read all the comments about her off leash “training“ (torture) of her pup and got triggered. Y’all, this is a new one for me in my munchie watching.

Uh, wut? Only a munchie could make a diagnosis code out of choosing to be bratty and not wanting to talk. (Eye roll.)

But y’all, don’t forget what a good dog mom she is...just forget all about the shock collar... mmkay?

Is DID real? Maybe. Is the portrayal she has of it real? I would say that it is heavily, heavily influenced by her research on the internet.

So, dissociative disorders have been found in all countries of the globe, but not nearly in the prevalence and way this is depicted, except in a western society that’s heavily influenced by media.

Repressed memories are absolutely real and I didn’t believe they were until I mysteriously remembered a traumatic event that I was able to verify happened with witness accounts. That was a strange day.

So, in general, when something happens that seems impossible, I’m not quick to rule it out. But, from the research that I’ve seen, dissociated states in other countries are not organized like this like they are by people who have seen western depictions of “multiple personalities”. They are seen in cases of dissociative fugue, where a stressed person suddenly leaves and doesn’t remember what they did and turns up somewhere, dissociative amnesia, where the person doesn’t remember an event, and dissociative motor disorders, like the infamous munchie PNES. You aren’t going to go into the jungle to an untouched society and find Joe Tribal man with a hundred different personalities, alters, protectors and a system in place.

Yes I know someone with DID. And they have been inpatient for 2 yrs ago and are exactly like this literally different people. They dress differently talk differently etc and are desperately trying to get out.

Edit: I’m getting the reaction autistic. However this person is not a friend I just know of them and how they behave/react. You asked a question and I don’t know how you think you will get the answers if you mark the above down. DID is not a vry common diagnosis, I’m just sharing what I know about it from someone I have seen. I def believe it is very real

Not to totally derail the thread in to the Schofield cesspit but just a few days ago a judge did find that CPS met its burden of proof and found her guilty of abusing her kids. They will remain in foster care for the next 18 months and Susan will have to jump through a lot of hoops to not have her parental rights completely terminated.

Thanks for the update!

Did you read the rest of what I wrote? I wasn’t really asking a question. In fact, I answered the question as someone else asked for thoughts on DID.

I say this as someone with extensive experience speaking with people who claim DID (4 separate patients) and having researched the claims of DID in countries outside the western access to Internet and information heresy on “multiple personalities”.

In practice, I tend to not believe things exist if they are heavily influenced by cultural phenomenon. The underlying disorder of the brain dissociating is absolutely real. The fact that people who suffer from supposed DID tend to overlap with depersonalization BPD and FD is going to raise some flags. What I’m saying is that dissociation is real, the system of personalities and switching and all that is heavily influenced by culture and doesn’t exist in all cultures in people who experience dissociation. So, for example, a culture that believes heavily in satanic possession and spirits may present a person as being “possessed” at times by spirits, whereas you would probably have a hard time finding that in the western world. These individuals may experience dissociative episodes, depersonalization and then just fill in the blanks with their own creativity and highly suggestiveness.

You’re getting the autistic rating because your original post was difficult to decipher given a few spelling mistakes, combined with you saying you know someone who has it so it must be real.
You are visiting a thread dedicated to making fun and calling out people who literally lie for attention. It shouldn’t shock you that people here are going to naturally be wary of someone who is on YouTube with an elaborate system of personalities seeking attention and possibly other things.

To add to this post and your previous one about DID...the diagnosis is most commonly seen in people with trauma histories, and it's believed (by those who believe DID actually occurs) that the fracturing of personalities is a coping mechanism used during traumatic events. That being said, this could explain why there is such a strong overlap with BPD/FD as these are commonly associated with trauma as well. DID also tends overlap with PTSD, likely because of the connection to trauma histories. There has been research done on PTSD that shows not only dissociative features, but also an overlap with psychotic features as well, and this research has produced strong evidence that in certain cases of schizophrenia (and other psychotic disorders), what the practitioner is seeing as schizophrenic type psychosis is actually PTSD related psychosis, and trauma focused therapies to treat the underlying trauma proved effective in alleviating psychotic symptoms.

In the cases of DID I've dealt with, the patient always had co occurring PTSD and schizophrenia...every time. When treating them, it always looked to me that what was being called DID was more along the lines of delusions and psychosis. Given the research and my own anecdotal evidence, I'd make the argument that DID is actually a form of PTSD with psychotic features, and there's likely an overlap with BPD and FD as you described.

My entire experience with DID is the insane (not in the way they want to be, but actually crazy) Tumblr community of "systems" who have little roleplaying bios for their "alters" and claim to be manifesting PTSD so any skepticism is you being abusive. The DID and systems tags on Tumblr are an amazing place to munch watch, especially since so many also claim illnesses like CF or the Munchie Combo Platter but never seem to have any symptoms except being unable to work. My favorite thing is that they always seem to develop new alters that resemble - or straight up are - characters in media that are recently trendy. There's a big overlap with the kin community and when kin attack DID for impersonating them it gets an extra delicious level of wtf.

That makes sense that schizophrenia plus trauma could manifest as DID like pattern. Delusions that someone is controlling their brain and hearing voices could definitely morph into believing these are “other people” inhabiting your body with enough suggestion. The cases I’ve dealt with were in people who were a lot more, shall we say.. manipulative.. and also lacking a core foundational being, usually due to heavy childhood trauma that didn’t allow them to experience who they were in early years. Anyhow, I think, for at least one or two of them, becoming someone else was so appealing that they created these characters. But, at least one of them admitted to me that this whole schtick was something they did to escape feeling responsible for their self and at times, because they didn’t feel like they really were themselves (ie depersonalization).

When I read "is that a poop bag?" I immediately looked for a colostomy bag, not a doggy poop vessel. I have been spending too much time on this thread...

Hello everyone, former lurker here. I happened upon Ophelia's twitter account today and found some tidbits that might pique your interest.

when asked for a simple quote of the wheelchair she was asking for on her GoFundMe page she answers with the following:
wheelchair price oh no.png
She was asked how she acquired her service dog and she had no idea despite the logo of the foundation that DONATED Doris to her was right on her dog's vest. Grateful, much?

Claims she's almost totally bedridden but can fly out to Mexico and, of course, Disney

That polo shirt outfit is so bad. She looks like a special needs boy being taken out by his caretakers.
She was born Kayleigh Brown to parents Ian Brown and Sheila Craig but if you ask why she hates being called female when she changed her girl name to another girl name, well...

ummm???? like???? A lot of her curious cat answers are like this.
It's called being a special snowflake and it's the same as people who change their name to Wolf or Raven. I bet she started going by Ophelia after reading Hamlet in high school.
