Not sure whether to laugh or cry about the hover hands.

Would you want to touch those greasy autists? Neither does Nick.

Also, my grandpa had a shirt like Nick’s in 1989...I get that 80s/90s retro is in right now but JCPenney chic is not what’s up.

BMUP.

Link to tonight's Rekieta. Not ComicsGate related (thank god). Not Vic related. Chad Dad stream by the looks of things. Might be cozy.

You're missing nothing. This has been Nick's dullest stream in ages. I swear they spent 20 minutes babbling about Stephen King books! Zzzzzzzzzz!
I can't stand Stephen Kings writing to be honest... Always found it horrible and dull. Stretched out stories with hardly anything happening, I don't get why his writing was ever popular... I haven't even found someone that could explain why they liked the writing style, I've literally only been told they liked it because they heard it was good. Maybe someday, someone can explain to me why it's good, based on their own opinion rather than based on the things they heard about it...

Ok, I stopped watching during the talk about religion to solve that men doesn't going for higher studies or wathever that was, stopped in the middle of that, couldn't be bothered.

Tried coming back and was met with the teacher getting confused that people couldn't get through a book of dostojevskij.

This is the worst episode I have seen from Rekieta, even Shanes episode was entertaining to come back to during certain phases so far in this case.

This is, unfortunately, terrible. Not every show needs to be Vic, but there isnt really any law being discussed here. Im rather disappointed, I thought having a teacher discussing issues of policy and sjw interference would be cool, but thats not what we got.

I was checking YouTube for anything interesting and kept noticing Nick's stream dropping 100 people every 5 minutes or so. This is probably the first time I've seen him at or below 2k viewers since before the Mignogna coverage

The guest clearly hasnt done interviews before. For a 10 minute fluff piece he'd be fine but not a 3 hour stream. This is painful, Nick is trying to save it but its a potato.

I honestly don't know what Nick takes into account when booking guests for his show. I know of a few entertaining people that he's all-out snubbed because they're (in his opinion) not big enough/interesting enough to have on.

The folks I know are actually decent entertainers, or at least have backgrounds in working with media and from what I've seen of his recent string of flops, would at least understand basic etiquette of being on a stream.

It seems like he's been looking for an exit strategy lately, or maybe just planning for his channel's inevitable heat-death. Just seems particularly odd, when there are plenty of interesting legal issues going on and he just keeps forcing off-topic streams. Maybe this is just all to see what his loyalty numbers are?

Well, he knows this guy and its a good cause so I can see him having him on, but he's had guests for just a part of a stream before. This would have been an ideal occasion for this procedure.

And he definitely needs to diversify his topics because the end of the Vic case, as you said, can kill his channel. He seems to want to focus on things that specifically interest him, which is good. I dont want to see him go down offering comments on topics he just doesnt give a shit about like so many other channels resort to to maintain channel growth.

Not watching right now but planning to later. Isn't this guest an IRL friend of Nick's? Disheartening that it sounds like a dud. Is it C-SPAN levels of boring or what?

Hope the teacher gets his library regardless. Some people just aren't entertaining or persuasive, but that doesn't mean their ideas are bad ones.

I've enjoyed a lot of movie adaptations of his work. Off the top of my head: Stand By Me, The Mist, Misery, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile... Not even counting The Shining. Seems like he's screenwriter fodder more than some literary icon.

He kinda has drifted away from his mantra of "If I am not informed about a subject, I'll have someone who is on when I talk about it"

I'm not sure when/why he started to drift from that, but those are (arguably) his best non-Vic shows.

Honestly, that's the appeal of Stephen King. It's not that his writing is dogs-balls amazing, it's that he is so meticulous with his work, that he gives absolutely everything the reader needs to paint a vivid image in their minds-eye about the story being told.

So for folks who really get lost in a book, it's a rewarding experience. For people who aren't into exceptionally detailed stories, things will drag. It is why his stories make great movie-fodder though, because it can let your imagination run wild with the ideas.

I know he gets pissy with movie adaptations because they don't take what he wanted, but in all honesty... it's very likely neither do his readers.
