As liberating as the internet has been for allowing the roaming of the lolcow herd, I still find there to be something very reassuring in the continued existence of the previous bastion of the amusingly mentally ill: public access television.
Dudes of all teenages, the Eli King show;
https://www.youtube.com/user/LIVEFREEORDIEMNN
Broadcast every Saturday on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network and all streamed online at www.mnn.org too.The whole show is then posted on the internet for the whole world to continue to ignore.
A little about the show: Eli - the host - is a paranoid, narcissistic, conspiracy theorist who does very little other than trying to spread bullshit and fear. Essentially he's a poor man's Alex Jones. He claims to be an investigative journalist but is in fact neither; he never investigates anything, he just reads stuff from the internet and jumps to conclusions, and he's not a journalist, he reads other peoples articles without crediting them. And if you are a conspiracy theory believer (no judgements here) then trust me, this guy is making you all look bad, all look like crazy assholes.
So he's a douchebag, a hack, a plagiarist, and demonstrably mentally ill, but can we raise him from lol-calf to lolcow? I think so, but I know the standard is set high.
He's not got any call screeners and so is very easy to prank, trouble is I suck at it and there's rarely anybody else doing it and no co-ordination, but here's an example show,
I'm Dominic Montifiore as well as a few others
There's three ways to go at it
1) If you ring up and argue with him then he feels like he's relevant, like he's got some kind of power, he puts on a martyr status and he thinks that he's won - not good.
2) You ring up and agree with him trying to push him into making ludicrous claims, but he's too much of a self-centered narcissist to notice, so he feels like he's relevant and that he's leading the good fight against the illuminati - not good.
3) You ring up and ramble: you talk about how much your neighbour's annoying you, how you think your wife's cheating on you, you read out the wikipedia article on pumpkins, you talk about anything other than what he wants to talk about - muy bueno
One other fun thing to watch out for is the phrase "appreciate the call" which is his (badly) disguised signal for the producer to hang up on the caller.
It's on every Saturday, 6.00 P.M. New York time, 11.00 PM GMT, and streams live on http://www.mnn.org/live/4-culture-channel
I should add that those indoors sunglasses are as permanent as they are douchey.
