I dug around on Twitter and the story still goes that the defence has a stark g case as everything they said is true because Vic has to provide evidence that everything they say is false. Dear lord, nobody would ever win a court case if that were true. I mean I'm weak with law but I understand it's pretty much this simple:

-Did you make that statement?
-If yes, did that statement cause damages?
-If yes, then why can't the prosecution assume you're lying without proof?

I mean if someone accuses me of rape, and I can't prove it didn't happen, KV logic says I did it. Why shouldn't they have to prove it did happen? And you're telling me lawyers can't get that of all things into their head. I get they've only seen glimpses of it but dear God at least acknowledge Toye is screwed. They also really hate Ty and Nick and probably lie about the number of clients they get or are so jealous of the attention those two get over a lawsuit. I guess they too want a waifu battleship as a gift.

They cannot admit it, because as Nick has pointed out they've essentially appointed themselves as the social media branch of the defense. No matter how bad, they have to keep arguing like they have a chance and ignore all information that defies this.

Those are not even good offensive weapons, you need both hands to get the right torque for them to be effective so the range is crap, and the shape makes it difficult to maneuver unless you either have a lot of space or are coordinated enough to pull off on the fly changes of hands.

Well mostly conjecture, I will admit I have never handled one of those, but they look way too cumbersome, like a stick with a knife on the tip would do a better job as a weapon.
It is not in any way a practical weapon. It's a Fantasy weapon. If you ever tried to use it in a fight you would hurt yourself.

There's a reason two handed weapons like long swords, spears and staffs don't have guards that go directly over your hands and limit your range of motion.

You would be hard pressed to find a real historical weapon like this that was actually used in battle.

I have one, because I guess I'm a fucking nerd.

It's heavy, awkward, terribly balanced, and far more dangerous to the person holding it than any opponent.

As a weapon it is useless and stupid.

I don't know much about Star Trek, but the stupid design of that weapon has always made me think they were the alien equivalent of a "dueling shield", an actual weapon that was designed to be clumsy and awkward. The idea was to truly test two people in a duel, give them an impractical weapon. That way no single duelist had an advantage over another due to the type of weapon used, since no person would be able to master such a poor weapon.

I don't know much about Trek either, but I suddenly get the funny idea of the bat'leth being for intimidation, because anybody who can use it without stabbing themselves in the face MUST be a badass, right?

Abso-fucking-lutely not. Looking at her be so casual and lukewarm about her supposed assault leads me to believe that she had in fact never experienced actual terror before in the face of the man she claims is responsible for inflicting a horrible traumatic experience on her. Most women (and even men) are changed significantly after something like that to the point where they need counseling to come to terms with what happened, recognize that it wasn't their fault and begin the healing process to accept that it happened and move on with their lives. It becomes a scar that haunts you forever, creeping up on you in unexpected ways or times. You could be with a lover and about to have sex and then those ugly memories rear it's head and suddenly a moment that was supposed to be intimate and tender turns into a bittersweet counseling session. You could be at the movies with friends and see a scene in a movie where a girl is violently assaulted and suddenly where you were laughing before, you get up and run sobbing out of the theater in a fit of panic and tears and it feels like you're about to vomit. Take it from me, an actual victim. That woman has never been sexually assaulted in her life.

  1. Monica claims she "went along with it". No actual victim ever goes along with it. They are forced and usually they are kicking and screaming, crying and wondering why this is happening to them and for someone to help them. This isn't a fucking hentai anime where if a guy gropes a woman, she just stands there. Normal women slap the hand away and act disgusted as they should.
  2. The trauma of those events makes actual victims incredibly wary of their surroundings and who they are with. If there's even a whiff of danger in the air, then we turn right the fuck around and leave. To this day, I still hate being out alone at night. The thought makes me almost panic at the possibility at what could happen.
  3. Actual victims have to go through even more traumatic experiences even long after the rape or assault. They have to deal with what happened to them and in the case of actual rape victims, they need to go into a hospital and basically have a swab stuck up their vagina to test for any DNA. It's how the police are able to catch rapists, by identifying the DNA and matching it with someone. They are called rapekits and they have to go into labs to be tested and the like. Even after that, they have to go to a court, they have to face their rapists/assaulters (IF THEY ARE EVEN CAUGHT), they have to get counseling, etc etc. Every day we are hit with constant reminders that we were victimized and that we'll never be able to be normal again.
  4. For some, the trauma and terror is more palpable than others. We all deal with trauma in different ways. Some of us are able to go on and lead somewhat functioning lives. Some of us get so messed up, that just being alone in a room with the opposite gender sends us into a fit of madness. Some of us take meds, some of us get counseling. If there's one consistent thing I've seen is that no one is ever lukewarm about what happened and it's something we treat as a very serious matter that should never be made light of.
I hope my points have come across clear. I know what a rapist/pedophile/sexual assaulter looks like and I know what a victim looks like. Vic is not a predator and Monica is not a victim.
Allow me to summarize.

NO ONE who does This for money...

...was also brutally raped in their youth and deals with trauma to this day.

everything about monicas story just screams bullshit

like, for 10+ years she just kept hanging around and joking, smiling, laughing, and having fun with a man who (she now claims) attempted to violently rape her in a hotel room in the late 2000s? and now, over a decade later, she suddenly starts tearing up talking about him in deposition, after having no problems being around him at cons all the time for the past ten years? her behavior and her story contradict each other so much, i really don't get why so many people seem to believe her.
Nevermind the crying was questionable and then that amazing tone change when she goes off about vic being on the box and not her. The box line seemed to display some resentment.

I always assumed the point was its use as a ceremonial weapon, so they made it awkward for ceremonial/official duels because 2 Klingons in a knife fight would be over too quickly. The only viable attack you can make with it is holding it like a baseball bat from the handhold on one end, and swinging it like a bat in a wide sweeping arc. But then you're basically just swinging a board with a nail in it.

Klingon knives were cooler, basically heavy duty combat daggers with the crossguard replaced by 2 more blades.

Something else: Why is everyone going on about Vic saying: "Silence is consent."?

  1. He said it to a director while recording lines, as far as I know, to say that the director not saying anything to him after he finished his lines must mean that his lines were fine.
  2. Said it at a con, was actually quoting Plato and not talking about sex.
  3. Silence IS consent, isn't it? I know that in German law not saying "No" and not fighting back or otherwise making it known that you don't consent means that whatever encounter you had wasn't sexual assault. I vaguely remember there being a case in the media where some girl sued some guy for sexual assault, but since she never fought back or said anything during the encounter, the dude was found not guilty and feminists were sperging out about it.
  4. Someone also said they had the recording of Vic saying silence is consent in the rcording studio and were going to use it in court. Ok. What are they hoping to achieve with this?

Well, bat'leth is apparently Klingon for "sword of honor," so being a dueling/ceremonial weapon would make sense. And then Klingons are crazy, so they would try to use it for war.

That said, it is effective for holding up 7-Elevens, even if you hold it the wrong way around. Maybe Kahless just really wanted a Big Gulp?

Any reasonable person would believe silence is consent and this can literally apply to any situation and not just anything sexual. If you keep quiet and never voice your concerns, the other person will undoubtedly take your silence to mean you are okay with it. A reasonable person would also fight back and clearly voice their displeasure at being the target of unwanted advances. It's called opening your mouth and telling the other person that you ain't into it and a normal person would stop after hearing your discomfort. Sitting there like a doll and not fighting back or saying how it makes you uncomfortable is basically giving a "signal" to the other party that it's okay for them to keep going. That's how most dudes are. They are not mind readers and you can't trust them to read body language. Just say "I'm not okay with this or I feel really uncomfortable." and that's their queue that they should stop immediately. If he continues, you physically fight back and again, not just sit there like a tard while he has his way with you.

When will these people stop taking other people's videos and taking them out of context
Never, because the reality of the situation is irrelevant to them. The only thing they care about is scoring points for their team and agenda.

It’s not even facts versus feelings at this point, because even the feelings of the actual people involved don’t matter to them. It’s literally just destroy Vic at any cost because a loss at this stage would be devastating to their movement and long term plans to co-opt every aspect of nerd “culture”.

I wish there was a laughing response. Goddamn. Thorazine, small rooms, and door locks.

You have no idea how on the nose you are after the experiences I've had. Some people simply do not belong in public with law-abiding people. Yet their behavior is nearly encouraged because they're special. It's incredible. I've become utterly disillusioned in my line of work. Everyone is fucked, even the special people themselves. They're fucked by the people who claim to be helping them. So they get fucked and the people working directly with them get fucked and the public gets fucked but you know who doesn't get fucked? The cunts in the office who make all the exceptional calls because they think they're helping.

It occurs to me we may be talking about different communities. Eh, still applies.
Well it's not just that the people in office think they're helping, it's a bit more complex. They pretend to be helping, but steer the construction business to themselves or buddies to skim money from the public pockets of us the tax payers. And they use it for points in re-election to do more of it and rinse and repeat.

Was just going to post this, but I found the person's Facebook. Can't archive it though, it comes up as page unavailable. Is there a trick I don't know?

I recommend using Nimbus plugin. It will capture entire pages or what you select.
Speaking of plugins you can also get a waybackmachine plugin for easy archiving of pages.
Gyazo is perhaps also an option. Never managed to archive facebook stuff either with the "normal" archives

Be like @Nontransferable guys. Archive everything. You never know when you'll need it.
