The first Xenosaga was "okay."

XenoGEARS, on the other hand, was fucking phenomenal. If they didn't like the cerebral aspects of Xenosaga, God help them with Xenogears.

Indeed. I love Saga but Gears is the best RPG ever made...and thats including the rushed disc 2.

I've been thinking about this kickvic thing from a criminal profile science angle. Now I'm no expert on this subject, so don't take what I'm saying as gospel. I encourage people to do there own reaserch on the topic of predators and serial killers cause it is legitimately interesting. Anyways..

If you were to create a profile of Vic based on how kick Vick portray him, he would be a massive outlier in the spectrum of sexual predators.

For context, as a general rule sexual predators tend to have a very strict type, as in they only like to assult men or women, not both. They'll almost never go after people outside of their own race. They'll go after people with a specific phisicall appearance, or people of a specific age. Maybe they'll select there target based on their lifestyle, such as specifically targeting people who work out, or go to the Library, etc.
The only big difference between different sexual predators is what it is that they are specifically hunting for, and how chaotic their methods are, in that some are predators of opportunity, and some will spend weeks planning out their attack. They also tend to carefully seperate their personal lives from there acts. There are exceptions to this, but it's uncommon for serial rapists to bring their fucked up hobbies home, or to the work place.

Now lets try to profile Vic based on kickvics narrative.

A: he would have to be a predator of opertunity, as none of his "assaults" could have been pre-planned. He would have had to improvise all of them.

(The problem is that Vic never actually takes advantage of his "opportunities". Why didn't he force Monica when he had the chance, why didn't he force the twins, or that highschool drama girl. He's a pretty muscular guy, so he certainly could have forced them. But in every opportunity he has, he doesn't follow through, and he's allegedly been at this for years, so he's had plenty of time to practice)

B: he does not have a type.... At all. He has been accused of assaulting fellow employees, fans, adult women, adult men, young women, attractive women, ugly women, fat women, thin women, white women, asien women, all shapes, sizes and colors, all walks of life, wether he knew them very well, or wether they were complete strangers.

(As far as I know this is almost completely unprecedented amongst serial offenders.)

C: he makes zero effort to hide his offenses from the public. He just walks up to you, surrounded by phones and cameras, and just moterboats those big ol hoohaas, for the world to see. And as we have established, he's totally indiscriminate. Karen at work, grabs her boob, random stranger on a bus, grabs their ass. He could be on live TV with the president's daughter and he would apparently just ravage her on the stage in front of millions of viewers.....
Except wait. In her email to funi HR, didn't Monica say he was really carfull at hiding his true nature and good at manipulating people into thinking he was a good guy? So I guess he simultaneously goes around assaulting random people like he's a GTA V character, but also tries to keep up appearances in work and at home? Big thunk there....

If Vic actually were a sexual predator, he would be such an anomaly that phyco analysts and FBI profilers would have a Feild day analysing and dissecting his mind, as he seems to completely undermine decades of scientific reaserch on the subject.

I'd be interested if anyone on the forums is better educated than myself and could give a better dissection of Vic's straw man. It could be a fun exercise in trying to put our selves in the shoes of our enemy.

For what it's worth, it's also one of Jim/Metokur's favorite games. He's mentioned that numerous times. I concur.

Best JRPG on the PSX, bar none, and one of the best JRPGs ever. Aping Evangelion aside, it's a bit too much like a Gainax production in that they had to rush the final act (second disc). Still great though.

Xenosaga was much of the original team trying to coyly (due to copyright) create prequels on the PS2, but I don't think they pulled it off nearly as well. I heard the third game was crap too.

It does help to demonstrate that he has been a target by constaff in the past based solely on his religion. Which, I do believe is one of the underlying motives behind some of these clowns pushing baseless accusations.

Third game was good. It wrapped up the story 'satisfactorily' but feels crammed. The second game (my favorite) was the one most people disliked the most. What it was, was very story heavy which put a lot of people off.

If you take all three Sagas as a single unit, it's more a playable movie than a traditional RPG game like Zelda, FF or Phntasy Star, which is why I think it elicits the love/hate response in a lot of people. If anything, I would say to people, If you played it when you were a kid or younger, try it again through adult eyes. You will find a lot of what makes it great you may have missed.

The interesting thing is that,if you turn this towards the KV crowd, you will find that a few of them have a far more structured predatory profile than Vic would ever have.

The story was great in 2. What I wanted was the streamlined battle system from 3 in 2 and it's be the perfect game tbh.

They say never meet your heroes, but imagine a job that's essentially that. Maybe that sounds a little depressing, but I think that pales in comparison to being so great at something that people you've never met before who are delighted by your work want to pay you money to do that thing and it only fills you with disgust.

Not solely for everybody. It's also his success. Read the missive I posted from Emmett, and breath in the barely veiled jealousy. You even see and hear the green eyed monster in Monica's depo.

But yes, his religion definitely played some role.

Vic was correct in contractually negotiating time be set aside for him to do his religious stuff. Don't like it? Leave. It's my understanding he generally doesn't do it in the panel proper. It's an after event. Conventions have plenty of shit going on simultaneously.

That is pretty heart breaking but all I can say in response to that asshole she had to sit and listen to is that if doing their job and making fans happy by doing voice lines of characters they love disgusts them so much, maybe they need to fucking look into a new line of work. Preferably one where they never have any human interaction again since apparently making the fans that help put money in their pockets and who are genuinely fans of their work happy is just such a fucking chore for them. Good fucking grief.
