Can't hotlink, bro.

Since he's still lurking, Im just gonna say that you can gladly discuss with us about this thread. We won't bite your head off if you kindly explain some things. Just verify yourself first, SP.

Man, talk about denial to the extreme. Who would be this picky about seeing some prime dog nipples?

Mainly sick fuck furries and zoophiles. Most furries enjoy two tit anthro porn because, ayyy it's porn, but SP here needs his collie porn it to be almost realistic which just rings my 'possible dog fucker' alarms.

But what the fuck is with all the dogmonglers all of a sudden on the forums?

Not just the dog fuckers, but all the lolcows in general. I thought we were a "hands-off" community, but now they're all just waltzing right in and making themselves at home.

Maybe they're dyslexic and came in on the flood of godmonglers who think they're divine.

Why is it that the furries tend to go straight for dogs? Or canines in general like wolves.

Dogs are very common animals. Dogs/canines, cats, and dragons are the most common fursonas because those three types of animals are so ubiquitous in our society. In the realm of zoophilia, you tend to see a lot more dog and horse-fuckers just because access to those two animal types are fairly easy and straightforward. Dogs are also arguably the most predominant animal in childrens' media (101 Dalmatians, All Dogs Go To Heaven, Air Bud, etc etc the list literally goes on forever) and since a lot of these lolcows have issues "growing up" they end up just sexualizing the things they enjoyed as kids so this ends up happening.

I see. I'm just curious as to what it is about dogs they find so particularly attractive. I mean, cats are just as common as dogs as pets. There's pet mice and ferrets and rabbits. But dogs seem to be the favourite, and dragons as well as you mentioned. I guess because they're cool?

I thought dragons were just an otherkin thing? Something I have never understood is while dog, cats and their larger wild cousins are very common but why has there not been a furry who identifys as say a sloth or a pig? I know that Carl Ashton banged some guy who had a chicken as his fusona but a little variety would be nice amongst these people/animals or what ever they claim to be on tumblr this week.

Dragons are very much an otherkin thing, yes. The otherkin and furry communities of the 1990's were mostly separate things with only a little bit of crossover. Otherkin was very much a Middle Earth / LARP'ing type of community, from the impressions I got back then, and furry was more of an anthro animal cartoon thing. As both communities began to develop and incorporate art and creative works they started to cross over and merge together on some parts, and now dragons have been appropriated into the general "society" of the fandom.

The real "draw" with dragons is that no matter the community, otherkin or furry alike, they're seen as god-like beings. They are often used as avatars by people who feel that they themselves are somehow lacking in some way (physically, socially, professionally, etc).

To get to your main question though, there are people who identify as sloths and pigs and whatnot; "fringe" animals I guess would be a good term for that. The people that do this are our community's version of the hipster. They're getting into this wacky persona on purpose just so everyone around them can go "wow look at that person who's totally counterculture and edgy". Some of them go through the effort of putting together some contrived BS about how they might identify with their chosen animal but it's pretty much just a front. I'm sure if you went to their house they'd have the furry equivalent of rare vinyls, which would probably just be dildos from Zeta Creations circa 1997.

Ironically, those are made out of vinyl. I guess that joke has multiple levels to it.

The thing with the furry fandom, for the most part, is that it's more about fun and making friends and essentially just finding a social circle that you fit in with. People choose common animals because they're ones that we're all familiar with, and most of the time people don't commit to one single animal when they're here. Most people like dogs, so there's a lot of dog fursonas. Wolves are a slightly "edgier" or "dark and mysterious" version of that (e.g. "lone wolf"), so wolves also end up being popular.
