I think it's particularly interesting how they permaban people for "downplaying [racism/sexism/transphobia]", because it gives you a crystal-clear window into the mind of a hardcore SJW. It isn't getting them silenced or deplatformed.

The worst thing you can say to an SJW is "excuse me, [Sir/Ma'am], but I don't think that this is as big a deal as you make it out to be". This is why they're so mad about Cyberpunk 2077 and THQ Nordic. The parties in question have clearly committed an unforgivable sin, but everyone around them is just too blind to see! This is why they extrapolate "hosting an FAQ on a hardcore free speech site (which is frequented by pedophiles due to its status as such, even though they aren't allowed there)" to "supporting pedophilia", or "making an offhand joke about a social justice cause" to "literally invalidating true and honest women". They see this as a necessary paradigm shift to clarify to others how big a deal it all is. But it doesn't work. Hardly anyone believes their bullshit, and they continue to screech endlessly into the void at people who can't even be arsed to listen.

It works like this. OP posts a topic complaining about something ("Look at this disgusting low-cut dress," "I am sick of heteronormativity in '90s shooters," etc.) Everyone else falls into compliance, agreeing that they too are offended by this thing. The seditious citizens who respond that they don't see the big deal are immediately banned for 'downplaying' the issue. Because OP is offended! We are all offended too! This is a site dedicated to hurt feelings! How dare you not be offended!

This makes it especially easy for the trolls to cause chaos. By acting as insane as the average REE poster, they can instigate massive bans when enemies of the People's Republic don't agree with the fake infiltrator.
