Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I suspect that it was mostly omitted because it would be awkward having to explain to the judge what an AMV is. That's a small thing at least.

If she was worrying about explaining anything to a judge, she wouldn't have submitted an affidavit, much less an affidavit wherein she fails to coordinate her lies with that of her cohorts.

I was thinking that each post made would be a debunked story rather than collecting it all on one post.
Like for example I'd create the thread with a brief summary of what the thread is about and why along with an accusation and screenshots and evidence as to why it's debunked. Then the next user can make a post with an accusation along with their evidence and argument as to why the accusation is false. Like...a collection of every single thing KV and their supporters have tried to levi against the other side and why all those stories are bullshit.
I'd have no clue how to do that here though.

I believe there are enough of us to cover anything new that may pop up. It shouldn't be too daunting, I hope.
We can't make a thread where the first post takes up ten pages.

@Nontransferable has been doing at bare minimum the majority of debunking concerning Lynn's clique at minimum, and as far as I can see, pretty much every post he makes in her thread as of late is pointing out inconsistencies between their statements and known reality. That ought to make things simpler, though the thread is rather large.

I think it might be a better idea to include the debunking in the OP for each subject (those related closely enough, e.g. Whitney Falba and John Prager to Lynn) would be grouped together with the most proximate person who already has a thread. That way, it would be easier to control the quality and accessibility of the material.

The whole reason I suggested it was so that we didn't have to dig through so much to find the information and so it's all consolidated into one space where it's easily accessible.
Also my autism may have played a factor. May have.

I thought you weren’t supposed to alert your opponents on plans, like a dox.

LOL! They think Shane "running interference" will divert attention away from them. Just the opposite.
I say its best to check what our KickVic speds are up to on Social Media.

Yup. He tends to be a harbinger that comes to the Farms when KickVic plans to do something.

If I ever get another headache again, it'll be Shane's fault.

There is no reason for him to EVER reveal his sources nor should he. Why on earth would he fuck over the people helping him in this matter? If Funimation and the VA's lose it will NEVER be safe to reveal them as it would expose them to retaliation.

If the people who could harm them are no longer in a position to harm them, there's no danger in revealing them. Of course he'll only do it with permission, though.

This. Effectively.

I wonder if any sub-tards actually grew up with the sub, the way they place it on a pedestal. Let's face it, even though the majority of Funi English VAs are exceptional individuals, most of us grew up on the dub of some kind on most of our anime whether it be the English ones, Latin, Spanish etc. The sub-tards are just elitists who loved the dub until they met some other sub-tard that pushed their ideals onto them. now they spend their time doing the same in attempt to wash the smell of dubs off their hands.

speaking of sub-tards and Funimation, I wonder how many KV supporters are siding with Sony about the Spider-Man issue based on nothing but the fact that they conducted the investigation into and eventually deemed Vic should be fired.

Sometimes sub-elitists are people who started with sub for whatever reason and now can't let go of it to justify that they weren't missing out or getting an inferior experience that whole time. Other times it's as you said, they're told 'kids are the only ones who listen to dubs'.

FUNi Piece is inferior old FUNi Z with Linda Young Freeza. Its nowhere near FMA quality. Bleach and Naruto had better dubs, especially the former.

I like your culture. Linda Young is the supreme form of Freeza. Chris Ayres is just copying LittleKuriboh, who's doing a spin on the sub version. (because Kaiserneko)

Generally speaking, re: subs v dubs, I think most people register whichever voice they hear first as the "definitive" voice such that others just sound wrong. (I have specific shows or movies that I saw dubbed first and now the original Japanese voices sound wrong for the characters to me) For a very long time that meant that hardcore fans considered Japanese voice superior in part because fansubs and some professional subs often came long before the English dub (which took time to make). Now that simuldubs are a thing and even "delayed" dubs are usually within weeks, it's more just viewing preference. That said, as a native speaker, I think English (and German and similar languages) are more harsh sounding and Japanese (and the romance languages like French) have a softer sound and flow better, so there's definite English dub parts (even if the voices are good) that just sound bad and awkward to me. I'm sure part of that is not being fluent in Japanese, but even apart from that, the phonetics just flow more smoothly to me.

The more familiar you become with Japanese the less magic the subs have. You'll start noticing annoying quirks, like how 'aah' is supposed to be a word, and various other grunts get used often to mean full words, but then they'll use little words like 'ano' and 'eto' instead of just 'hmm' or 'umm'. Or where they're trying to be aggressive and insulting, but all they're really doing is using a wod for 'you' that's not polite enough and doing so aggressively. There's also things localization can sometimes edit out, like the senpai/kouhai dynamics and fussing over honorifics and when to use first names and etc. These are stuff that often carries into alternate worlds like scifi, steampunk, fantasy, or even foreign-set anime, and once you notice these things you can't un-notice it. That's the time when your own local dubs become more appealing, because any good localization will replace or downplay the cultural quirks.

There's almost nothing so bad that culturally enriching it with noxious SJW bullshit is going to improve it.

Any time you can get an opposing witness from "I'm absolutely certain about that" to "maybe it didn't happen exactly like that" is good.

Sure, but there's a difference between SJWing something and just localizing something.

I'd believe this, but female characters in the original track have always sounded high-pitched and squeaky. Only some voice actresses have deep voices in comparison (off the top of my head: Rica Matsumoto, Megumi Ogata, Mayumi Tanaka, Masako Nozawa), but every other voice actress either sounds like a little kid, or they're using their sultry thot voice (which tones down the squeak, but it's still higher-pitched). As for males sounding deeper, given the amount of soy in their diet, I'm literally shocked this is feasible, especially with the younger voice actors that have come in in the last decade.

That's just the whole thing where being a woman/feminine requires you to sound high pitched and girly, and being a man requires you to be deep voiced. The sultry voice is only deep because a woman being aggressive/assertive enough to seduce someone with that kind of confidence is already shedding her feminine role and taking a more masculine one. The only time you'll hear (rarely) a rough/harsher female voice is if they're being an outright tomboy. For that reason, dubs have a much wider variety in female voice. I find it amazing how often I'll compare a sub with a dub and how the Japanese female VAs have so little variety in sound compared to the dub.

As for the men, it's because they're purposefully putting on a deep voice. It's not what their voice actually sounds like. If you can get them to speak another language (properly) you'll usually hear their unmodified speaking voice, because they're too distracted getting the words right to bother with modifying their tone.

Seeing how these affidavits are being cut to ribbons here, what’s the earliest Ty can address these inconsistencies?

TCPA response filing some time this month.

Well, guess we can expect more articles by the wonderful Sharon soon.

I love it.

"Actually I assumed that the people who disagreed with me would be far more heinous and vile, but their failure to live up to the boogeyman I painted in my own head has only further confirmed my own belief I was right about how awful they were because reasons!"

I'm considering compiling something along these lines, have an outline sketched out and it seems doable. At the very least we need one to put all the court filings in one place.

But I don't know how the forum rules and how it's supposed to work, if that kind of thread would be considered redundant with this thread itself.

His usual sperging out, followed by dozens of people calling him names. It's pretty predictable, though still entertaining in its own right.
He had not posted in awhile. I had thought he minecrafted himself for awhile. Again I dont use twitter so I dont know what him or anyone else is doing there unless posted.

Yup. He tends to be a harbinger that comes to the Farms when KickVic plans to do something.

That's why it's just best to ignore anything he actually says. Just note that he's here again and keep paying attention to the shit that actually matters and is what he's trying to distract from with his tard antics.
