It says something about the power of social media in an atomised society that people who live near to him are finding out about him now, for the first time, from social media. If Facebook, Google and Twitter had succeeded in their attempt to squash this story these people would not have found out.

Another thing that's noticeable is that despite all the stories of a rabidly transphobic society just itching to go full on lynch mob mode, none of these people are even hinting at that. It's pretty much 'Pedo in the hood. Keep your kids away from him'.

Problem with that is that he hasn't been convicted of pedophilia. So the BCHRT wouldn't be able to take that into account in a hypothetical court case. And right now it seems like the RCMP are not exactly rushing to charge him.

I think if he sued me I'd say I wouldn't hire him because of all the conversations his verified Facebook account has had with verifiably under age girls and hope I could get someone like JCCF's John Carpay to represent me but the BCHRT might decide to ignore those FB conversations.

JY already tried to launch a babysitting career. He apparently had posted an ad in one of those Langley Facebook groups, then a follow up comment or post complaining that no one would hire him. He got booted from the group and all of his posts and comments deleted. Unfortunately this happened before I stumbled upon it or else I would have saved screenshots. What I saw were comments in the same group where people were talking about what happened.

Give me a few minutes and I'll try to find those comments.

I just wrote and deleted a whole comment because I saw myself inching close to Mad At The Internet territory, so I'll just suffice by saying that in some groups, it's more important to use the right words than it is to protect actual people from harm. You won't get anywhere with some people unless you speak a very specific type of activist/academic language.
