Article 8-23-19: Yaniv charged with Weapons Possession - Due in Surrey Provincial Court 12-5-19

You guys are acting like he'd be going to Federal prison if charged, but it'll be Provincial. Federal is for 2+ years and where you'll find the pedobashers. Provincial is under 2 years and it's full of DUI'ers, small time criminals, drug addicts, domestic abusers, and hotheads who get in bar fights on the regular.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I hope he appoints the crazy deaf old Jew-hag Mama Yaniv as his "lawyer". Is our favorite fat troon finally going to face the consequences of his actions...?
I hope we get some inside scoops from this because I really want to see what Yaniv wears to the hearing. Will he wig-and-tiara it up or will he attempt to look contrite and sullen with a "no makeup" face? Decisions, decisions. To borrow a phrase from the Misty Henry saga:
Tick tock motherfucker.

Didn’t he tell them himself that he was in possession of CP after they arrested him? Think he claimed that someone had sent it to him on FB. There are also screenshots of him wanting to show CP to minors, but we know those will just be ignored...
I imagine if cops have something like that it would be with detectives building a case right now. it's not like you hear about stuff that serious until an arrest warrant is served.

If he pulls that then the Court will want a medical report to postpone things. If it turns out he is lying (more accurately, we know he is, but when he is caught out) then he could face being done for contempt of court.
We can only hope. Regardless I have a hard time seeing him maintaining any kind of decorum in the court room. I'm sure at some point things will go stupid

Prediction: Trailer-trash drag queen chic complete with crocs and plastic tiara. Sequins may or may not be involved.

He won't even go to that. He'll get off with probably a fine because "muh troon"

Since the HRT decision is coming in November, the decision has to be free from the influence of these weapons charges, right? So, he gets his Christmas present, but then gets it taken away? Question should probably should go in my "Canada law clarification" thread.

Schedule is out to November 22nd. He's not on it yet.

I've known a few people who have been charged with prohibited weapons charges in Canada before. He wont get any time but he will get an either 5 or 10 years weapon ban that is standard. He will have probation probably 2 years which is the max but I wouldn't even be surprised if it was only 1 year. Still the 5 to 10 year weapons ban is a guarantee which means if he got caught a second time then maybe he would get like 30 days.

He may even walk away with a conditional discharge after a certain point if he gets a good lawyer which pretty much comes down to "fly straight and dont let us hear even a whim about you for 6 months and this all goes away but if not we'll come down on you twice as hard."

Anyone suggesting hes going to do jail time over this incident alone doesnt know Canada. But he is on the radar now so if he gets arrested again before that gets sorted out hes fucked royally lol. Hes going to be on a short leash for the next while but if he can shut his mouth he'll be fine... but who are we kidding....

Probably true... but, if Canada is anything like the US legal system, prior convictions of related crimes are considered. If he accused and convicted of preying upon minors the fact he was convicted of possession of illegal weapons hat could be used to incapacitate a victim should be considered. Stun gun and pepper spray he gets a fine, who cares. When he goes to trial for something that is real jail time, they consider a previous criminal record and then he's fuct proper. He doesn't get to play the "one mistake my whole life", defense

Not necessarily. Normally there is a hearing to determine if prior bad acts can even be mentioned as some view it as prejudicing a jury.

What does probation in leafland look like? In the US, they will ride your ass until it's over. Would getting blotto and making death threats on the internet be a violation?

It depends on the specific probation conditions. Most likely he would have to meet with a probation officer in like a strip mall once a month for 5 minutes where it's just a formality to make sure you're like at least functioning. What gets people is that if he breeches probation for even the littlest thing there's no questions ask they just haul him to jail on a breech and sort out the charges later. And good fucking luck getting out on bail if you've breached lol like that's unheard of. Probation in Canada basically means if you sneeze you're fucked. But if you do nothing to bug anyone and stay out of trouble its literally nothing. Yanivs lawyer will push for a conditional discharge so at the end he probably wont even have a criminal record at the end of his probation if he gets it his way and has no previous record cause they dont like starting records on people. However again note if he sneezes in the wrong direction he gets locked up for probably months.
Oh and if that assaulting a reporter bit comes back to bite him it could go double bad. If hes smart he will get out of this squeaky clean. If he acts like his exceptional self he'll be spending Christmas with the boys in a medical segregation unit with all the other crazies in provincial lockup.

Do they allow cameras in Canadian courts?...jonny has a hard time keepin his mouth shut....I can see him now...interrupting the judge...talking over his lawyer......His court appearance may well be high comedy ;)

The judge and DA, are they considered public figures approachable by phone or e-mail?
In criminal cases, the judge's email address is only given to the lawyers. (At least in Ontario) Self represented parties have to send stuff through a third party or the judge's secretary. Crown Attorneys...well, you can find their info more easily, but they typically only accept evidence given to them by police, due to chain of custody issues. Even documentary evidence that doesn't need a witness, like stuff you get from an MLAT is attached to a government office that can provide a witness to analyze it. (From my experience)

That one's a hard no. There's a reason they have the sketch artists in there. Hell, you either need to get the judge's permission or be a member of the press to do audio recordings. If you're caught taking pictures or video, the blueshirts take your phone and wipe it or will watch you delete the photos/video. That being said, if someone who worked there hid a cam ahead of time...

Re how he'll try to sidestep this appearance, I'm gonna go a wee step further and stick a cheeky quid on this longshot: even JY's collapsing brain can realise shit just got real, so he'll lay relatively low (perhaps not total radio silence but nothing anywhere near the intensity of the last few weeks), followed by a fake suicide attempt in the days prior. No pills, blades, doing a flip or anything too irreversible in case he miscalculates: it'll be something relatively safe and controllable. So another quid says manufactured scooty-puff accident - slightly pulling out into traffic or similar.

Exactly. No cameras in the court. But I really want to see a sketch artist rendition of yaniv in court... lol WGKitty got time?... all cameras wait out front but if you request they will probably take you out the back lying in the back seat of a squad car so you cant be photographed and taken to a safe location by police after your case just cause they dont want any more extra work by having some big scene in the front of the courthouse.

Canada is huge on privacy. You cant look up their mugshots like I hear you can in the US and believe me if John was charged there is a mugshot and fingerprints just they will never see the light of day unless you are professionally involved in the case. But leaking that loses your 6 sometimes 7 figure job.

Also like how you called them the blue shirts. You know how it is lol.
