I was meaning in regards to the attorneys who actually mean anything, as in the actual lawyers in the case

Marchi definitely got the best lawyer in that he's actually attempting to gather facts related to the specific torts his client is alleged to have committed and attempting to argue against them in efficient, reasonably to the point filings.
The stream where Nick went through Marchi's affidavit and was commenting about how much stuff was clearly drafted by a lawyer in a way it wasn't going to be easy to strike all of it should have been sufficient evidence that strip mall lawyer by day and batman larper by day for night at least has some sense for how to pursue a win for his client as opposed to just trying to get Vic to fold with reams of obviously defamatory bullshit.
Who knows, might buy him some goodwill with the judge.

Sam J's strategy has been careful and sensible from the beginning. He has cooperated with the plaintiff, he's been aggressive with PR but managed to shield marchi with the endless stupidity of moronica, and all of his filings are actual legal arguments with some nasty jabs at Vic- so standard practice for litigation. He and Volney seem like they actually want to win whereas Lemoine seems like he just wants billable hours. Medical bills, maybe?

To think marchi kept making fun of Nick calling him a “strip mall lawyer.” Well Sam seems highly competent, and his office is in a strip mall.

Johnson being a strip mall lawyer means that he knows that what he gets for his retainer is the only payment he actually has and won't have to work for to collect later. So he's naturally going to be efficient with his time and his filings.
I doubt that he's under any delusions of the importance of what he's doing either. Add in his other interesting quirks and idiosyncrasies and it's easy to see why he's more likable. Throwing the acrostic into the TCPA filing as a nod to Nick is the kind of cheeky that I like to see.

I was rewatching Yu Yu Hakusho this month for the fun of it.
In YYH, Jamie played a minor character in the Dark Tournament arc, a demon named Juri who was literally just supposed to be an eye-candy announcer.
Well in my rewatch I came across an amusing scene that got a lot funnier with time considering Vic had zero sexual interest in Jamie.

Vic comes across as so personable and genuinely interested in what the fans are saying. He also doesn't seem to notice he's almost as immune to aging as Keanu Reeves. Anyway, I'm just watching someone else interact with him but it almost feels like he's a buddy of mine, he has some next-level charisma. I kind of want to meet him and tell him I have no idea who the fuck he is just to see his reaction, but I think he'd just recommend me some animes he voice-acted in and give me a hug while saying "thank you for visiting my panel even though you don't know me, it means a lot".
AND ON THE OTHER HAND, Marchi demonstrates some bitch-like behavior when she's not recognized. "You've never seen any of those? You've never seen Fullmetal Alchemist? You've never seen Ouron Host Club that he's in? *gestures at Vic*" and look at her face. It's basically the exact same face Rial made in the deposition when she showed her jealousy with the "his name was on the box and mine wasn't even though I was the main character", but it's also the same face Rial made when drinking water and swilling it around her mouth like it was Listerine, so this HOT TAKE probably doesn't mean shit.

The fact he takes the time to find out their name, and then very clearly does his best to keep it in mind, definitely helps with that. By doing so, he makes it more personal even if he doesn't remember the person past the encounter. Whether effected or sincere, it is a damn good trick and having some personal charisma to back it up is what cements it.

Yup. If you go look at Marchi's and Sam Johnson's first document, it has jealousy written all over it when she mentions that Vic was a much bigger star than her and that she was a nobody. So she's very conscious of where she stands compared to him, enough to include it in the document.
