In fairness, Hotwheels did allow that board to exist for about a year before the new owners cleaned house, but the backstory is very interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if they had their own more personal reasons for collecting questionable content.

After their little Autistic sting operation, /hebe/ got taken over by the locals as Laurelai promptly abandoned it, and eventually saw the sort of content one would expect on such a board. We actually had one of the secondary owners who ran it shitpost here for a bit, and they actually weren't aware of the Laurelai connection, so I wouldn't be surprised if nobody knew that one out of Lolcow and GG circles.

Sadly, this is one time when archives can't give you an accurate record of the early days; all records of /hebe/ have been scrubbed from the archives and internet wayback machine, which leaves the screenshot promoting the honeypot IRC channel as the only evidence to it happening in the first place. This sort of scorched-earth scouring of a website is relatively rare, but I can see why it'd happen with the content /hebe/ posted. Granted, it's not like the Anti-GGers don't have a history of scrubbing the archives to cover the misdeeds of pedophiles.

Thankfully, some evidence does remain, and that which does is pretty much irrefutable. Namely, that the very site mentioned in the post above shares an IP address with Laurelai's personal site, his personal porn site, and also SJWiki, which Laurelai runs. The former is probably the funniest because the connection to Laurelai.info explains a lot.

The best thing to do is get the sane posters banned. Furiously report posts and see how a high a score you can amount. If you put transphobia in any report you send in it's almost always a guaranteed ban. No questions asked.

I promise you many of the biggest lolcows on Era have reports in the hundreds. That's all they do, go around the forum looking for posts to report or ask on discord for a ban. Troll accounts blend in easy smashing report as mods get hundreds of reports daily.

They really could have avoided this but they chose not to.

ResetEra is forcing you to censor your game on their orders. Why not just admit it? It would have offended decent people far less, and engorged the boypussies of REE more than they have ever previously achieved.

Likewise, they give $10K to a LGBT 'education' charity that suicidewashes itself by operating a small 'suicide helpline', while their CEO takes home more than $200,000 a year on $4m donation revenues. Why not just say 'We have donated money to a charity that we feel may appease REE'?

The child molesters at ResetEra weren't going to forgive them anyway, and actual gamers would have been a lot more tolerant of their censorship and gay/trans political agenda pushing if they were just honest about their motives for kow-towing to the enemies of gaming. How hard would that have been?
