Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

It's definitely worth a listen. Once the video is finished, I'll edit this with a link and timestamp, but she's completely shredded his affidavit. Here's a summary of what's been discussed so far:
  • She has never flown with Vic, nor has he paid for any airfare of hers.
  • Vic has never kissed her, forcibly or otherwise.
  • She's a friend of Vic's, but not a die-hard fan. Vic wasn't even her favorite FMA VA.
  • Ty Beard has been in touch, but in a good way.
  • Faisal unfriended her after the affidavit dropped.
  • She has saved text conversations with Faisal that contradicts some of his statements related to inviting Vic to AWA.
I can't wait for her affidavit to drop. I don't want to be optimistic, but the text conversations could be big. Some time ago on one of Nick's streams he had made an offhand comment about several of these convention organizers having a private Facebook group that had decided to drop Vic and stop inviting him.
To be honest with you and according to EriMin, everything Faisal said about her in his affidavit is bullshit.

Isn't some court stuff happening in a few days? I wonder if Ty already has affidavits and isn't sharing them online because he doesn't want to come across as overconfident compared to the defendants.

Better than Monica, who ignored Vic's confused apology and bitched to Colleen Clinkenbeard

Also lol

For all his intelligence and competence, Ty is such a dork
And yet KV thinks he's a paint-swilling, sister fucking moronic hick. Sean Connery Bond as an avatar makes me think he's a bigger nerd than he lets on.

Will confirm about autograph pricing changes.

Back at sacanime 2012 (want to say summer) they generally didn't charge for autographs. I got an autograph and photo with Nolan North and Troy Baker, no charge. And those two are much bigger than anime

Fast forward to current year and while several guests do free autographs, it's only for the first autograph and photos cost extra. And plenty others charge for their autograph

I believe the counter-motion for the TCPA is due on Friday, in advance of the hearing next week. I may have that wrong, but the hearing is a week from Friday regardless. I assume the affidavit will come up during that time.

The hearing isn't until September 6th, but Ty has to file by the end of August at the latest. If he's not sharing anything online it's because there's absolutely nothing to be gained (most of the affidavits were already shredded by information the farms dug up) and it would only give the opposing counsel additional time to digest the information and prepare their own response.

Ty is probably aiming to hit them hard and in a lot of places. Unlike Vic who has a team at BHBH that Ty can use at his disposal, the defendants (except for possibly FUNImation) don't have those kind of resources at their disposal. The less time he gives them, the harder it will be for them to mount a proper defense.

If Ron and Monica haven't been keeping up with the bills, I wonder how much time their counsel will really put into it beyond what they've already done. Those TCPA dreams may have already become a ship that's sailed.

And don't forget KiwiFarms. Whether it's in pursuit of lulz or in pursuit of justice for Vic, the stuff that gets dug up helps immensely. It just so happens the lulz are at the expense of the defendants.

@Nontransferable all by himself has dumpstered Manjawllo's credibility.

  • Conventions changing to paid autographs (as opposed to previous system) may have resulted in envy in VAs.
That's pretty plausible. Going from everyone getting more or less the same flat fee from a convention to getting a reduced fee or no fee, but people pay for signatures and photos could create some noticeable differences. The less popular guests could take a hit to their income, while the more popular guests saw a boost. There being only one line for autographs for multiple people would suddenly be a big deal as it being clogged by fans of one person would actively reduce the income the others saw because their fans had more difficulty accessing them. Certainly a situation that would lend itself to fueling envy.

I recently found out that Hero Hei - while I was watching the livestream featuring EriMin - cannot help anybody on any donations because of the fiasco involving TUG. (Correct me if I am wrong about it or if I'm missing anything from the livestream I was watching/listening to.)

Someone asked him [HH] on a super chat/dono about getting help on his/her/their fundraising for a computer IIRC, but he rejected it and asked if he would give the person a dono refund as an option.

Quite the tough guy act for a guy who hides behind a blocklist. Imagine staring down federal prosecutors for a living, but being unable to handle rudimentary internet banter and people disagreeing with you.

I've been lurking on the Farms long enough to know which one of those options I'd prefer.
