I stopped checking updates on this fucking trainwreck more than a year ago, I came back to see if he's done any significant progress on the game... to no surprise, he didn't. What is he even doing? I can't believe there are people still supporting him on Patreon after getting fucked over again and again. At first I found the game interesting, but now the yandere trope isn't as popular as it was when he first came up with the idea. I don't know how many people will be interested in this concept by the time the game is ready to be released,

According to his loyal moderator Cleveland Rock Alex is in the phase of trying to get Osana done and then ditching the project and taking all his shekels with him

Ah. And now has come the time where everything has calmed down mostly...............at least until the next update that is not a debug build. Or next "big" update.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet (and I'm not about to go through 1600+ pages to find out), but has anyone mentioned the people who actively support Yanderedev like Kubz Scouts? There's no doubt that he knows what's going on considering how widespread the Yanderedev drama was on Youtube thanks to the official Discord Server, so I feel like that's something at least worth looking into.

Azzman started calling him out then quit playing the game. That's all you're gonna get, since Yan Sim is a widely popular and profitable game.

Alex and the mod are lying then, because he's still avoiding finishing that at all. All this stupid NEET did is change the endpoint to fool his remaining fans and audience that he's still actually making a game rather than just inserting dumb shit they can notice and still get their money for.

You're not as smart as you think Alex.

That's debatable especially in late 2019 when the game is still banned on twitch and only two "reputable" youtubers are "playing" the game
Their fanbases are still large enough to keep the game fairly popular. How many will end up buying the completed game is another story, but I'd still consider the game popular in terms of interest, if not nearly as popular as it used to be

Well, it can't be faster, than Alex, and he used Owlboy as an example of a very long development, meaning he is aiming for 2025. Still not gonna happen

Yeah, Yandere Simulator is going to get an 88/100 score on Metacritic for sure.

It looked mildly amusing in the sandbox stage (well, it still is in sandbox stage right?) but he just keeps adding pointless crap to the game. I'd be willing to bet that even when he releases Osana (like that'll happen) it'll still be possible to kill her within the first five minutes of the game and "win", despite him adding pointless obstacles.

Like Eil said, there's still a pretty big fanbase - including old fans somehow. I'm still following old friends who are still fans of it, since 2015 even.

It's that whole thing of "Do you separate the art from the artist?". The artist may be a horrible person, but the art they make is really great. In this case the argument is that the concept he has is great, even if most, if not all of us will agree the product itself isn't. If any old fans who know of the drama are still in support of the game it's probably because they want the art to be great, so theyre willing to overlook everything else.

Either that or they are gullible and will believe what he says despite the evidence.

I think most old fans just like the character designs and got a sense of nostalgia for the good 'ol days of being in the fandom, lots don't actually like Alex or the game.

Honestly, I've followed it since pretty early in development (maybe circa 2016?) and I'm still subbed to his channel and will probably give the demo, if it ever comes out, a spin (if my computer can handle it). It should also be noted that a lot of people don't follow his online drama - I was unaware of it entirely until he made that whiny gremlin video which is what made me realise something is not right with this guy.

With that said, I've never financially supported the project and wouldn't support a kickstarter. He's making everything hopelessly complicated when he should be focused on optimising and streamlining it. It's pretty obvious that he's not interested in that considering he ditched TinyBuild. I have no idea how he would work with his own supposed group of designers/programmers (not well I suppose) when they'd inevitably suggest to cut useless crap from the game. He'd likely fire them on the spot because everything in the game is GENIUS.

I joined the fandom in 2015 but I caught on when Azzman and Dev got in beef, since then I somehow discovered the Farms and the rest is history.

What I want to know is what kinds of people support it, me as a wee babby never had the money to support it and neither did any of the fellow wee babbies, so who are these people paying him to make the game?

Even separating art from artist it's still shit. It's like the No Man's Sky of internet memes, only worse.

Children with unrestricted access to their parents' credit cards, stupid adults who grew up but didn't mature at all.

Mostly seems like people holding out hope for a good game, and/or holding out hope that Alex will change or never did anything wrong. It's pretty typical, and why Alex and people like him (Onisiion for instance) still have some supporters. Blind optimism and all that 🤷

Also there are people who are like him that support him. So there could be people supporting him that know what he's done and agree with it or like it cause that's what they're like.

I'm too lazy to read the entire 1696 pages of posts, but has anyone mentioned how he attacked one of his own sub-fandoms?
The name is Yandere Simulator Fanon Wiki, and not a lot of people mention it. Basically he joined the Wiki and broke the rules and was surprised when he got in trouble.

Honestly, it is possible for Yandere dev to finish osana. And there is a CHANCE he’ll get the Kickstarter money. But he will DEFINITELY FAIL PLAYTESTING.
