“The issue of whether it can be appropriate to express pleasure at the death of a bad person is a recognizable question in moral philosophy,” (chair of Charleston’s Department of Philosophy Larry) Krasnoff said in an email.

This presupposes Magdalen Berns is a "bad person" (Rhy's dissembling does not work because he specified "brain cancer", which David Koch did not have). Dr. Moody might ask Professor Krasnoff to clarify on this.

The answer, though, is an easy dodge...

"That would be left to one's own value system in judgement of others."

I mean he is a philosophy professor, it's going to be a varation of moral relativism.

His inital answer, also, is not wrong. It's just a bit spineless. Expect the followup, to be the same...

McKinnon did not respond this week to several requests for comment.

The quote was the last line in that article. Rhys McKinnon, global media star, did not respond to requests for comments? Whyever not, Rhys? Afraid of getting your ass handed to you, again? C'mon, big boy. Show us what you're made of - you gob off often enough.

No one cares about the value system of any random person; we want to be clarified about Professor Larry Krasnoff's own value system -- does he think Magdalen Berns is a "bad person"? If so, why? If not, why did he mention "bad person", instead of say, "people who differ from me politically", in this context? -- and how his value system has guided the operation of his department, in particular the hiring of Mr. McKinnon, who obviously harbors a value system incompatible with society at large.

I find it to be an altogether fitting punishment for granting Rhys tenure: to constantly be asked "Do you support this?" and constantly have to answer yes. How humiliating it must be for that department chair.
I hope Charleston finds the negative publicity worth it.

Compare this new article to the one written the last time Rhys embarrassed his institution:
The tone of adoration for the brave Trump martyr is notably absent this time around. This is what it's like to watch people get sick of Rhys.

Right, but what exactly do you wish to ask? Is it...

"Do you, personally, feel that Magdalen is a bad person?"

He could simply answer he does not know her to draw a judgement. If pressed, he may even say 'no' but that does not mean it would/should correlate with Rhy's opinion.

I just don't see how you can trap/embarras Krasnoff, rhetorically, in this context...

yea. it was a dumb move on krasnoff's part to attempt a substantive defense and try to turn an obvious snarky shitpost into a live philosophical issue. nobody actually wants that. he should have just made a boilerplate statement about the department's commitment to academic freedom and their colleagues' right to exercise their extramural speech....blah blah, and leave it at that.

So, this is the introduction he wants to make to a fresh crop of students, huh? As that prof who celebrated a young woman’s brain cancer?
Nah, the introduction is that he is a multi accomplished female, who is the best female who ever femaled.

He is the natural evolution of feminity taken to its zenith.

I was wondering about the start of the semester and Rhys’s alleged Japan trip. What kind of low-level prof takes off for a couple of weeks at the very beginning of the school year just to do a personal lecture tour unrelated to their field? What kind of department gives the okay for that. If Rhys were some big name philosophy figure, I guess but he’s not.

absolutely yes, that will make students afraid of upsetting him. Narcissistic people are unable to differentiate that from genuine respect.

Also note that I wasn't able to find any instances of him being called "doughy" specifically on Twitter, but plenty of examples of him being called that here; the last time being a mere three days ago... really makes you think!

Aside from the fact that I don't think I have ever seen anybody use the adjectives "effeminate" or "soft" to describe Rhys and that the majority of weak men are still able to beat most women in physical competition because of this little thing called biology, there is nothing that says you can't both be a raging machine and be weak. In fact, insecure, weak men like Rhys often exhibit traits of exaggerated masculine rage precisely because they are weaklings who feel the need to constantly prove themselves in order to convince both themselves and the people around them that they are actually strong in body and mind.

Hahaha, noooo, nobody thinks Rhys is "effeminate" or "fem" anything. He's a hulking male gorilla and he's fucking lazy, which is why he settled on a sport where he can beat women with the least amount of training and effort.

And he's been on a diet for a while, so it's no surprise he looks marginally less doughy in a photo where he's flexing every muscle in his body and sucking in the strategy gut for all he's worth. He's still fucking gigantic. And still 100% man.

Hey, Rhys!

You should brag about your waist/hip ratio next, since I'm sure it's an extremely feminine number like .9.

Oh Christ, its getting to the point where Rhy's will reinact the 'Goodbye Horses' scene from 'Silence of the Lambs'

That is a VERY unimpressive 'athletic' physique(male or female). Suck in that lady gut harder, Rhys...

this is why philosophy seems like a weaselly profession to me. apparently, unlike math or even English Lit, it can mean whatever you want it to mean? any answer is acceptable as long as its clever & carefully avoids personal responsibility/emotion?

i remember sitting thru interminable boring ass sessions on Plato, Nietzsche, etc. seems like the whole discipline went to Disneyland in the last 2 decades? i consider feminism to be politics or "gender studies"--why is it being included in "philosophy"? (off topic? but maybe not. maybe rhys will jump in to school me)

this weaselling explains why they couldn't get rid of rhys. this krasnoff can't wipe his ass--rhys therefore has him by the short hairs. rhys is far more masculine/Machiavellian & is now running the show.
