Comparing Funi's currently working VAs with James Gunn, when Gunn was martyred for PR and made a pariah by cancel culture, but Funimation's VAs got to comfortably burn down a man's life and make a pariah out of Vic for a dad joke...?

Wasn’t Gunn put back as director for Guardians 3?

Holy fuck...

It’s not very complex. It completely obvious. That’s what the fucking evil funeral protests of soldiers is all about. Committing an act so abhorrent that local government and law enforcement step in to send them packing, thus opening up a civil rights suit for the WBC to exploit for profit. And it worked.

They sue a lot but I doubt they make much. They won that Supreme Court case, but they weren't the plaintiffs. Also the primary way the funeral protests were countered was based bikers like the Patriot Guard Riders who line the funeral routes and drown out and block view of the WBC scum.

Of course they pulled the James Gunn card while lacking any self awareness whatsoever.
GamerGhazi truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

Holy shit, browsing that sub is like leering through a window into a realm of surreal caricatures of reality. Like an inhuman being attempting to replicate human behavior as it sees it in a vacuum.

It really is a gift unto us all.

I might be in the minority here, but I don't think Gunn should have fired. Dude worked for Troma before he stuck it big. That's pretty much all you need to know about his sense of humor. His crime was being too dumb to delete those old tweets the first time they surfaced.

Now, if it could be shown that he burned down somebody else for edgy humor, I'd change my tune.

Life lesson I've learned from everyone around me is "don't put your dick in crazy." Then again, your brand of crazy may not be my brand of crazy.

Crazy is taking her home to mom, introducing her to your friends, saying "You know, I can change this one, she's amazing and a keeper. Nothing else matters."

All those thoughts are crazy and every redhead I've ever met is crazy. Tis why Vic was seduced by her, maybe that's where he learned his mind raping ways..from a soulless succubi ginger.

They used to Bea... Oh wait you mean at the mortgage company.

You know, we never found out (or I missed it perhaps if we did) why they moved out of Monica and Ron's house. Given recent findings, think maybe Ron had something to do with that? I mean other than wanting your own place, I think given their hobby, living with a VA would present many opportunities to go to cons

It also makes ya think about rial's remark that she allegedly never really interacted with them and that they kept to themselves.

I’m on the same boat. As everyone pointed out, it’s not a matter of content, it’s a matter of consistency. You could make all the raunchy jokes you want but don’t get on your moral high horse and bleat about how offended you are over innuendo.
On that same note, I don’t Gunn should have gotten fired. But if they were dead set on keeping him fired, they should also fire anyone else who’s made controversial tweets in the past. Either all of it is okay or none of it is; you can’t pick and choose what works for you.

I had the same opinion for Gunn as I do now for the idiots at Funimation. They made their own beds. Gunn was all too happy to see Roseanne fired by Disney over a tweet. And when that same culture he helped to spread comes back to bite him in the ass, I'm supposed to feel sorry. Nah, fuck him.

It was however funny that people ever thought they were gonna keep him fired. If he ever was at all.

I feel like it's about time for an actual PSA - don't let your impatience and anxiety cause your autism to kick into overdrive and to seek out the action yourselves, and do not think that every little thing, whether it's a picture of a cat and deducing possible cat abuse just cause you think the owner is a piece of shit, contacting someone's ex-wife who has been trying to live her life for the past half-decade without the man you're fucking contacting her about or an audio leak of fags and hentai rp is going to be the end-all-be-all for this entire shitshow just because we were all spoiled with dumb fucking shit happening every week in the past.

We don't need anymore stupid shit happening here, we are not a tabloid, we're not fucking journalists, we are observers, commentators and people who seek laughter. Nothing more.

"He who laughs at lolcows should see to it that he himself does not become a lolcow. And if you gaze long enough into the autism, the autism will gaze back at you."

Who said anything about keeping her? All I need is a weekend, a bear trap, 50 gallon drum of lube, and a hotel room in the jungles of Costa Rica.

Everything past that and I start to lose my sanity. You don't take Crazy home to mom...ever.
You could dose her up with Rohypnol, triple wrap your genitals and book plane tickets to the other side of the world. Nothing about that encounter is safe short of nuking the place the moment you've had your way.

Something people say in Silicone Valley: avoid everyone crazy enough to live here, especially yourself.

Dealing with redheads takes a specific set of talents and you either have them or the redhead will have you for lunch. The lowest of lows to the highest of highs. If you can ENJOY that sort of life 24/7 without becoming a snack toy cuck, then they're the girls for you. If you aren't, then stay the fuck away or they will consume more than your soul.

I think that sentiment strikes at the heart of why the leaked audio and the Toye documents matter. In all the responses across the internet I have read or watched, the primary deflection is always some variation of accusing us of a Tu Quoque Fallacy, of our new defense being some variation of shouting "You Too" at the other side. The usual refrain of "The recordings are very old" or "It's the usual in the industry" or "The Sheepdog has changed, trust us" or "You are just bringing this up to throw mud, or to stir the grift pot ahead of the TCPA hearings." The thrust being we are just trying to deflect from what Vic has supposedly been proven to have done. Their defense/excuse is always the basic notions of fairness, due process, or pointing out a disproportion response to the act, the same ones they denied Vic and which we subsequently marshaled in his defense.

But as several on here have noted, we give no shits about the recordings, care not a fig for the sexualized environment, and genuinely despise Soye as he is an abuser, but that's because we have this little thing called proof, not just because we think he's a cuck. I said I actually found the orgy recording hilarious and would under normal circumstances defend their behavior. The entire point is that these people have condemned a man using mores and standards that would nuke their social standings even more than Vic, because their transgressions are documented. Them being puritans is one thing, but this is hypocritical puritanism. Rules for thee but not for me.

Always make your enemy live up to their own standards.

This poses an interesting question; does cancel culture actually yield honest to god benefits?

People who defend and perpetuate it say that it’s still important for our society even it has negative consequences; but notice they only say that when it’s someone they don’t like being cancelled.

Objectively speaking, do we really need something like cancel culture?
