It all seems too obvious for it to be chuck. I doubt he'd have had access to this after he attempted to mediate a few months ago as well. Whoever it was probably hasn't weighed in on the subject and would have access to audio. Could be bevins, he moved to LA a while back and was one of their most valuable audio engineers for a long time.

Kurosawa had similar views, as did his good friend and frequent second unit Director Ishiro Honda, who actively helped dub a few of his own movies to English. The most notable being Godzilla. But do understand most of this isn't some quest for artistic purity, etc. Most working directors do in fact wish to be paid. And they understand the secret to being paid and paid well is in making their work available and accessible to the widest possible audience. And most people prefer not to go to the movie theater to read.

I left Weeb Wars for a bit to focus on my life. I got the pop up for Rekieta's stream last night and what it started is pretty amusing - That said the argument ISWV side is slowly turning into an obnoxious form of SJW that needs to be nipped now. It's perfectly fine to argue that the things said in the sound booth are not at all consistent with the puritan nature they claim. They are massive hypocrites, for example, for keeping Sean saying Faggot faggot faggot over and over again when these people explode at the mere utterance of the word. Its a great tool to call out their two-faced nature, and how obviously targeted the attacks on Vic are.
NOW with that said. Hero Hei is streaming now and I've seen this all over twitter. "MUH MAKING A JOKE OF YOUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY"
This is Not at all new.....At all. For those of you that actually bother(ed) to buy official Blu rays from them, they put these in as extras all the time. They will also take the reels to Conventions all the time.
Screaming to daddy Parent company over this, is a low blow and I don't like the precedent it sets. I think there is definitely room for fun and parody as long as it's a DVD extra or something. And this is perfectly acceptable. The people making a big fuss are more interested in destroying Funimation the company - but it doesn't seem like it's at all very focused and sighted. I would hate to see a crackdown on authentic and fun blooper extras that make any purchase more worthwhile - just because some exceptional individuals got their pantsu wound up in their cracks. Funimation is a shitty company - Yes! Tackle it as the company that hates it's fans, not the company that makes parodies on their downtime and may or may not throw them in as DVD extras.

If i've learned anything from the many many MANY mistakes of outrage and cancel culture, it's that companies ALWAYS take the wrong message from these things. What a parent company should take away is "Dont give my content to shady companies who despise their fans" But I know now That they will instead take; "BLOOPER REELS AND PARODY ARE BAD" and kill the fun for everyone. It could also lead to a massive crackdown on the abridging community.

The thing is, most of these recordings are NOT "Blooper reels". We all know what Blooper reels are. They are unexpected and often hilarious fuck ups, gags and obscenities made in the course of normal production. Generally when an actor blows a line or is just screwing around. Some of these things are somewhat in that category. I'll give Schemmel the benefit of the doubt for his fagotty faggot tirade. But much of it is NOT that. They are seemingly deliberate and in one case rather scripted and polished Gay Porn using the licensed characters. That's not a big HaHa! Funny! That's a major Fuck Up. Especially when it gets out in the wild and involves some highly offensive language coming out of the Licensed Characters. I care nothing about the morality. I'm not humor shaming. But what we saw released goes to the heart of how immature and unprofessional the operation at Funimation was and still is. Goku dropping the F bomb as he fucks up a line is fine and everybody gets a laugh. But Mr. Popo and his Special Lotion is going places that no director or production management should have ever allowed cast and crew to go within the working environment. Because they have a legal obligation to protect the brand and the IP. Plus this shit is in fact Workplace Sexual Harassment. Whether or not you agree that it should be is a matter for debate. But under Funi's own rules it clearly is. Remember this all blew up in the first place because Funi tweeted out that they don't condone Harassment of any sort in the workplace. Well according to these audio files, they clearly do. It is an element of their corporate culture. And that's a bad place to be in when you are being sued.
You've been handed one of the most valuable IP's on the planet. A literal license to print money, and your go to activity is Yamcha being anally raped? ChiChi/Gohan incest porn? Did nobody stop and think for a minute that this might not be the best idea ever? Did anybody ask any gay staffers at Funi their views on Schemmel, as they A list hero IP character screeching faggot! over and over into a Mic in the office made them feel? Somebody clearly had a problem with this, because it's out in the wild.
Is it a heinous hate crime? No! But it is a complete lack of any and all adulting in the workplace. A failure on every level of management and personal behavior. It's not criminal, but they had a clear legal obligation to their contracted partners such as Toei, to not do shit like this. They themselves created a clear legal obligation to their own staff to not do this sort of thing in the workplace. So it's not something that can be papered over. And pointing it out and holding Funi accountable is not some moralistic campaign or prudery. It's simply holding everybody accountable to one set of rules.

As I said earlier, my hot pick is Justin Cook, but Rizzo is a close second. I feel like Cook, HEAD OF PRODUCTION, would have access to old PRODUCTION files on a computer, while I have trouble imagining Rizzo would have that kind of access. And as I said earlier, the first time Nick mentioned Cook on a previous stream, he either defended him or at least had no untoward comments about him. While on last night's stream, he went at him hard but very briefly. I just think there is something fishy with the difference in Nick's thoughts of Cook between the two streams.
And remember in Vic's depo, he said Cook basically told him he was on his side before learning he was fired. You can take that one of two ways: Cook told Vic what he wanted to hear while actually being part of the mob. OR he actually did support Vic but was either powerless against, or too scared, to speak in support of Vic.
Maybe it's a bit too early to give up on gool ol' Urameshi just yet. At least I hope.

It's a holiday weekend. We probably won't see anything until Tuesday. Even if Ty sent it in, it won't go up until it is recorded by the clerks. It counts as on time. But it won't be publicly published until people are back in the office. Lemoine should get it directly from Ty.
