Well, if we're doing the thing where some concerned mod gathers a bunch of letters, filters them for (overtly) trollish responses, then sends the 'sincere' ones to Chris... any chance that we could briefly revive the Mailbags? If people who submitted a jail letter also had to create an electronic copy, when/if Chris replies to the batch letters we could match his reply to said electronic copy. So even if Chris doesn't appreciate the gesture, we still get a source of backhanded lulz. Not unlike that horrifying commission of Robbie Sonee he did a couple of months back.

This is of course predicated on the idea that Chris will actually respond to the letters, but he might be bored enough to actually do so. Maybe we try one letter package and if he doesn't respond to that we drop the whole idea.

As his PS3 can testify, he will do anything on the empty promise of money. In fact it's a miracle he hasn't fallen for Nigerian prince scams yet.

but he might be bored enough
Oh i BET. Once he realizes its his only outlet to complain to people who he thinks might care, he will be ON it. Itll be petty crap like "the canteen dosent have fanta", or whatever, but chris has shown he will go to the effort to write letters and send them off. Hes going to have a whoooooole lot of time to write his complaints out. Weens gonna ween, but IF he goes in, and this whole court thing isnt just a big nothing, we might get some interesting, handwritten stuff from chris in an environment he believes is troll inc personified.

if he goes in

Your letter has been read fully, and your thoughts have been inputed and accepted for better improvement. Thank you for your time and efforts.

I think the best the kiwifarms could do for Chris (on the off-chance of him serving time), would be donating Goosebumps books to the jail... if we feel so generous.

Then again, part of me wishes he'd pick up Count of Monte Christo...

A bit off topic, but Cracked just released a POV article about a public defender.

I don't know how much crazy Virginia has on average, but if #7 is anything to go by, Chris's PD probably has seen plenty of delusional people like him.

Why are we assuming he won't get another tap on the wrist with something that teaches him absolutely no lesson at all?
He's got existing priors from the Game Place incident - downgraded to misdemeanors from outright felonies because Snyder felt that Chris still could turn his life around and didn't need the felony on his permanent record. He also had Rob Bell at the cost of Bob's entire nest egg.

This is, what, six years later? Chris is visibly even more mentally unstable, stands by his contradictory justification of macing a guy for reasons supposedly unrelated to why Chris was at the store (which video evidence proves he was aware of his ban and actively ignored it), and has a public defendant arguing his case against a felony that Snyder is not going to save him from.

Please bear with me here, because I can't reveal my source....

According to the latest information I've received, Chris has yet to be assigned an attorney. According to Chris, the assignment will take place tomorrow.

That's all I know right now.
...what.

Chris hasn't had a public defendant this whole time?! That explains him doing pretty much the worst possible things any public defendant would explicitly tell Chris not to do, but at the same time the poor sap taking Chris on as a defendant potentially knows nothing about the situation whatsoever.

This isn't a question of Chris getting leniency like last time anymore. This is purely damage control. Absolute worst case scenario? Insanity plea, if Chris can not be kept under control whatsoever to the point the book is thrown.

I was wobdering about that. How does assignment of a public defender work? Do people normally meet with one before a hearing/or did Chris think this was no big deal and chose to hold off meeting one until the last minute?

Chris won't get the insanity plea, he was judged competent before and he will be again. To us he's gotten a lot worse but he isn't to the point where he can't distinguish right from wrong, he's just got a warped view of how the world works
I do agree this is pure damage control on the part of the courts though. My guess, the defender will try and get Chris to admit to common assault and plea out with a fine or something. Problem with that is Chris will never admit he's wrong.

Well that certainly means a continuation.

No judge is gonna let that guy stand trial w/o a lawyer. This usually happens a lot. The judge asks if they have a lawyer, the judge reiterates the obvious that these are serious charges asks if they want a continuation to get a lawyer or PD, they say yes, cuz better than getting hammered today, judge shakes his head and sets a future date. Chris's negligence actually bought him some more time to play with his legos. Since Chris lives his life ambling about day to day he'll see this as a good thing, rather than getting this out of his life as soon as possible so he can move on.

Couldn't repeated failure to get a lawyer be classed as contempt of court?
