There's an important lesson in here: That the larger context of this is bigger than Quinn herself.

Alec did, after all, have more than his share of skeletons in his closet as well. His issues were, as they say, something of a known commodity, as evidenced by the huge number of people in his circle of friends willing to go on about how awful he always was. That sort of shit happens a lot in these groups, as we learned from Randi Harper, who revealed that several of them were keeping these massive logbooks on one another so they were fully prepared in the event someone got excommunicated for wrongthink.

In this particular case, evidence suggests Alec had problems with allegations long before Quinn voiced her little MeToo analogue. She just took advantage of what was there. And that's an important distinction to make, honestly. Quinn is absolutely a piece of shit. The huge number of harassment campaigns she's known to have engaged in, the fucking ridiculous amount of times she's done the exact shit she's complained about to other people, the way she's used (and will continue to use) people, and fuck them over for her own amusement are all things that deserve derision and ridicule. But while one can certainly argue that she has culpability in this case, one cannot make the argument that Quinn herself intentionally killed Alec - all she did was point a finger.

Her supporters, Alec's so-called friends, and Alec's own issues did the rest from there.

I don't doubt he was abusive to some extent. I don't think things were as bad as Zoe said, but I doubt he was a good boi who dindu nuffin.
From everyone's account, tho, he sounds mentally ill and in a lot of pain himself. In her own fucking post, Zoe talks about how unstable he was when they were together, showing she understands he was in a bad place mentally at the time and this caused his behaviours. She also says that he apologised to her, and she forgave him. We also know now that he went through therapy and was in a much better place.
And while mental illness doesn't excuse you from being a cunt, Alec was actually trying pretty hard to not be a mentally ill cunt. He was in therapy and he had been in a better place for years. He took responsibility for his actions: this was his past.
In the end she took a guy who was working really hard on himself out of sheer shame for the way he behaved towards her, and made sure he lost everything valuable to him. She knew he was going to be left alone, while he saw everything he worked all his life crumbling down. This would be extremely hard on anyone, but, as you said, it's even worse for someone with BPD. I've seen people kill themselves because they felt abandoned by one person they cared for: imagine when he was actually abandoned by literally every person he cared for.
I can't believe she didn't expect him to take his life. Yet she posted this shit anyway. She killed a man to gain internet sympathy points.
