Something interesting I noticed in the filing that I haven't noticed mentioned yet, though maybe I missed it. From page 95:
17. I have appeared at a number of conventions in 2019. They are listed below, along with the amounts I earned at each (all amounts rounded down to the nearest thousand dollars):
a. Kamehacon - $37,000
b. Savannah - $13,000
c. Central PA - $5,000
d. Puerto Rico - $11,000
e. BakAnime - $5,000
f. Anime Matsuri - $30,000
g. Super World Con - $5,000
h. Ireland - $12,000
i. Liberty - $14,000
j. Jacksonville NC - $12,000
k. Bubba Fest - $17,000
So, roughly $161,000 earned at cons this year. He also notes that:
18. Five of the conventions that cancelled me were as large or larger than Anime Matsuri. These were: Emerald City Comic Con, Florida Super Con, Fan Expo Toronto, Fan Expo Orlando (aka MegaCon) and Planet Comic Con. It is reasonable to expect that I would have earned similar amounts at each of these conventions that I earned at Anime Matsuri ($30,000), but I would have earned a minimum of $20,000 per convention because they were all larger in attendance than Anime Matsuri. I would have expected to earn at least $5,000 at each of the smaller conventions that cancelled my appearances, extrapolating from similar sized conventions that I did attend (i.e., the conventions listed in the previous paragraph other than Anime Matsuri).
Which is to say, his estimated losses due to convention cancellations this year will amount to, at minimum, $135,000, and could be reasonably estimated to be in the range of $180,000-$220,000. To say nothing of lost income from cons not even inviting him for late this year and next year. I'll go fairly conservative and say $180,000 in lost earnings, plus the $161,000 in earnings he actually did get, which is $341,000 in estimated income just from conventions.
I would dare to say this is very much on the high end of convention earnings for anime voice actors in general, but it makes me wonder. How much more than Jamie, or Monica, or Chris, or Sean is it really? Double? Triple? Even more? Does he earn even more in total than Chris Sabat, who has all kinds of power and his own studio?
If there were rumors he were to get some kind of actual power in Funimation, like a director position, in addition to making more money than everyone and already being disliked by his peers...would that have been enough to get them to put together a conspiracy to bring him down? Seems plausible.
