My understanding is that in order to defeat a TCPA motion, the plaintiff has to show that there is enough evidence backing their initial claims that they have a reasonable chance of winning the lawsuit. That's how most anti-SLAPP statutes are supposed to work, anyway -- unless the plaintiff can prove that they're not filing a bullshit lawsuit intended to swamp the defendant in ruinously-expensive litigation, the lawsuit gets thrown out and the plaintiff has to pay the defendant's attorney's fees.

The burden of proof is on the plaintiff -- Vic. Vic's counsel has to prove to the court that they have enough evidence behind their claims that their case might succeed. IANAL, but this it seems that the plaintiff's best course of action here is to respond with as much evidence as possible. Whether all of the evidence will hold up to scrutiny is a lower priority at the moment. The evidence's validity, under these circumstances, is less important than its volume.

Sony will continue to have interest in putting out dubbed anime in the U.S., and Funimation has the facilities to do it. It's possible/probable that a large chunk of people in the company will not be there any longer, and obviously Okratron won't be getting those sweet, sweet deals anymore, but I believe the actual Flower Mound campus will still be used for anime for Sony, either under the Funimation or Aniplex name.

Although, as I see it, given that this is the U.S., which has a huge industry of voicing its own cartoon products - the place will not be empty. I guess.

But personally, I am really interested in the real prospects for Vic in this situation. KickVik doesn't understand the main thing is that even if Vic's reputation can't be repaired, he and his support still have a duty to do everything possible to punish the bastards. Not for the sake of revenge, but for other actors not to get the same thing next time.

And yet, apart from the fact that in the hands of KickVik, it's a stupid and pointless argument. It's still an interesting question. What can really be done for a person in such a situation. I mean, of course, it's not his fault, but even studios that understand this are unlikely will want to invite him and provoke the fire of the haters. They're in business, not in charity.
Accordingly. Is there a chance that in a year everything will settle down and he will still be able to work? Or does he need to change his profession somehow now?

Got to remember, BHBH works differently from the law firms you see on TV, and it seems how they work somewhat in real life.

You go to a law firm, they assign a lawyer to you, and that dude and a paralegal pretty much deal with your case for you. They may ask other lawyers for help and assistance for ideas-bouncing, but generally you get your lawyer type and he deals with the stuff himself as his assigned case.

You go to BHBH and you're basically hiring the entire fucking firm. Sure, you got a lead on the case but the entire firm pitches in on various meetings, considerations and random white boards which can be scribbled on by any member of the firm. They no doubt hold war councils where all their lawyers sit in and discuss what the best strategy is.

This means, in terms of simple experience in years, you're hiring 100+ years of experience versus the MoRon's combined 30.

EDIT: Should also chip in, that Ty is impressed by Nick's ability to predict. He's coming up with similar, solid strategies they've no doubt considered at their war councils. Meaning Podunk Lawyer in the middle of nowhere, Minnesota is on the same level as a room full of ruthless lawyers and a dude from MENSA.

I would guess, in light of the Funi revelations, that aside from RT and Funi (pre Sony action), he will at worst, spend a few months at modest levels of work. After the 'cooling off' period that many companies default to in order to dodge the mob, he'll be back stronger than before.

If he is exonerated, what does he offer outside his talent? The "Face" of wronged man who triumphed over massive odds who makes anyone hiring him look good for doing so.

It's the exact opposite. The evidence's mere existence is what's important. The plaintiff has nothing to prove other than that there is a case, not the case itself. Just Vic's own affidavit proves most of the elements of his case, and Huber's fills in much of what was left.

Less is more. All filing voluminous mountains of garbage shows is you're so desperate to prove anything you fling a mountain of shit in the hopes that there's a kernel of corn somewhere in there.

All they need to do is ignore the “haters”.

Ever since the smear campaign, Vic has been to a number of conventions and, if Kamehacon was anything to go by, made them a SHIT TON of money. Vic is also still doing voice work for companies that Sabat doesn’t have his tentacles in (IIRC the only jobs he lost were Funimation and RT, and according to Huber Sabat is also involved with the latter). If a company has the integrity, they would tell the social justice weirdos to fuck off and life would go on. Most importantly, perhaps, Vic still has legions of dedicated fans who will support him, because they’ve seen the documents and are convinced of his innocence.

I think the only way for his reputation to be completely vindicated is if Season 2 completely turns the tables on Sabat, spilling the casting couch and conspiracy stories into the mainstream. But even what we have now is already quite a bit above the worst-case scenario.
