All the other old GG communities have been covering this non-stop, so odds are better he got his info from KIA or from numerous former GG elements that send him info via Twitter constantly. He has a full self-appointed staff doing it, too.

Honestly, Hamblyburger, while absolutely a lolcow, basically works for us without realizing it. He goes out into the field, spreads awareness, causes chimp-outs via his coverage, and draws attention to himself in the process, which, in turn, gives us more to cover. It's all good.

GG 2.0 is not a thing and need not be a thing. The situation that caused GG to happen in the first place just isn't there. You can only have the scales fall from your eyes once, and what kept people glued to the Autism Holy War the way they were was the fact that you had so many happenings happen at once, in succession, and on such a scale. GG as a whole ended pretty decisively in 2015, but it brought to awareness that no one can simply take what they were told on trust alone anymore, and that feeling has only gotten more pronounced internet-wide since with less than five percent of people trusting the mainstream news now.

One of the clearests legacies of gamergate is that "social justice warrior" became a mainstream word. At first it was proudly worn when people were accused of being SJWs, but now it's pretty fucking common to hear people say things like "Now, I'm no social justice warrior" or when countering someone on the right: "What's up, dude, you sound just like a SJW." which is about as effective as the 2010s right wing strategy of saying things like "democrats are the real racist", in other words, a total defeat by both ceding linguistic territory and legitimizing one of your opponents strongest weapons.

But there was so much shit going on back then, and more importantly, so many people unaware of the changing landscapes online. Now, even if things go in a shitty direction, there are hundreds of channels covering the minute changes in this landscape. So much so, that this barely registers on the radar as everyone is bored and tired of the subject as people try to monetise the smallest things.

It's not just the many things that happened with GG, it's also the unawareness on all sides of how to play things and all the mistakes on each side only made it more of a shitstorm. Like, ZQ hiding her patreon income. There can't be people going mad if it multiplied by 10 overnight and say how she profited over killing someone. And if it diminished by factor 10, people can't get mad that she is unfairly being penalized for speaking truth about abuse. Nor can people laugh at her failure or laugh at her fortune as goobergrabblers try to go after her. There isn't the same long trails to dig up, since most of those have already been dug up anyways.

I very much doubt it will even be a blip on the radar in a week's time.

From the few times he's had something worth watching when I was out and about (a rare thing, but he does sometimes let a nugget of wisdom out when he isn't sperging too hard), he usually throws just a single ad in at the beginning or end. That's when he even bothers to do so. A lot of the time he doesn't bother or makes a point to not even try to (the recent Alec suicide video he didn't even try to monetize).
