"As someone who knew Alec personally, as well as the people he was working with recently (who are friends of mine)... this sucks in every possible way. No one wanted this outcome, and it's hurtful to see the internet run wild with the most cynical of speculations.
Alec himself wouldn't even be okay with the witch hunt that's been going on. All these people demonizing Zoe, Scott, Bethany, etc -- those are the type of people that Alec loathed. The people taking up a crusade in his name are the exact ones that act out in ways that Alec would never approve.
Alec wanted to be better, but he wasn't there yet. He still had problems. The people he was still hurting up until recently weren't even sure what to make of what was happening, because his intentions were good but his actions occasionally spoke otherwise."
However he seems to have definitely partaken in some of the kool-aid. Even if that's the case, can they not see how Zoe's post was at
best horribly irresponsible? Same with the public cord-cutting on Twitter. Also they seem incapable of thinking that there is another side to the story, that perhaps Zoe was also abusive to Alec and they were mutually toxic to one-another. They don't seem to get that
no good can ever come from these public Twitter crusades.
