Operation Chris Eater commences

On that note, is anyone taking bets on the PD just requesting a continuance, it getting granted without question, and absolutely nothing else happening?

I'm psychic.

Also they update the online case status almost immediately.

Oooh. Hopefully that's an actual trial.

If he has a felony trial, it'll be in circuit court. It would still need to go to the grand jury, then an official arraignment. It'll be months til the real trial, if there is one.

You don't think they'll take him being a repeat offender into account and give him worse than a slap on the wrist?

I don't think it's impossible it'll come up, but I doubt it'll figure into anyone's decisions much. Chris' record states that he plead out on a misdemeanor charge from an incident 3 years ago. Chris is not that special in that regard (lots of indigent or mildly unstable people drift from minor charge to minor charge, racking up a lot of probation and community service stuff, but never seeing jail time) so I don't think the prosecutor will be bringing it up.

EDIT: This is actually something I've been trying to get across because it is important to how the judge and prosecution handle this: WE know Chris and his antics and craziness, but he is not special to the people in Court. To them he's just some idiot who pepper sprayed someone in a mall. His actions are mildly interesting, but not unusual or epic enough to warrant more than a passing thought. If he is anyone involved (prosecutor, judge or even his PD)'s highest priority, I will be very surprised.

Well hopefully two months is enough for the PD to realise that Chris will never take a plea bargain and will just give up on him. That or the judge sees that he's wasting time and tries him in contempt of court.

Docket search says today was another continuance. I bet it's due to the need to actually consult with Chris in depth since he'll probably have refused to plead out.

Just like 10/28 then. Chris is going to be in deep shit if this gets taken to trial.
