This whole thing is unbelievable. I can't know everything Alec did but if we don't allow people to redeem themselves, what other choice do they have. I decided to peruse a few other forums (I'm sure you can guess which) and this is really the only place where I see opinions that aren't "Stop harassing poor Zoe. Wow Gamergate 2.0. Chuds" etc. etc.

If Alec really was such a shit and you didn't think he was redeemable, why didn't you just pull the trigger yourself, Chelsea? You did what Erin did to you, but Erin wasn't digging shit up ago from 6 years to ruin your "career" (which is non-existent besides being another 2chic4u thot with saggy tits and more cellulite than brains), he was defending himself from a gaslighter and a predator. You probably had no interaction with this dude for years, but you thought it was a good idea to drag it out for everyone to see and then hide when actual people who care about mental illness were trying to help him (aside from his sister anyway, I guess). You're a fucking nasty human being and I wish I could say there was some appropriate punishment for you, but I don't think anything can trump being trapped in the frumpy, pear-shaped, self-victimizing existence you've carved out for yourself in the armpits of Silicone Valley, all the while feasting on mentally ill men who don't know any better than to be wary of a serial predator whose existence can be likened to some kind of fucking oblong psychic vampire.

This sucks. I can't believe someone whose only relevance is their giant gaping pussy can browbeat a mentally ill man into killing himself and then make herself the victim for shit that happened years ago. It's near downright amazing. I wonder whose scalp she'll tie next to her very large belt. Fucking stupid asshole.

I'm still trying to process it all. I still can't believe this entire situation. Maybe because I'm trying to rationalise and understand but from what I gathered, unless I'm greatly misreading the entire situation which is possible, that cognitive distortion was more than a cognitive distortion and he was surrounded by people who actively despised him, to the point of making him a pariah.

You know, I remember this weird thing that I learned about reputation. People will rather endure anything, even physical pain, as long as they aren't called racist, sexist, or homophobic. People can be surprisingly weak at times when it comes to things, even when the person in question knows that it's untrue, will feel intense pressure to apologise or to wear the hair shirt for their perceived crimes. Intense demoralisation and gaslighting would cause anyone to lose their minds eventually and they knew how to pull those triggers. This was the only end result that was going to happen; the way how his life fell apart within a weekend makes me wonder if it was all coordinated but I don't know. I can't quite think of a better way to get rid of a business partner than to induce him into a suicidal state.

So, I'm not yet locked out of her Twatter because I followed her long enough ago when I first found out about her from the Zoe post.
Judging from what she RT's I think the strategy was that if she tweeted about him hurting her in the feels then she's brave...... because according to Alex Cute Jerks she's so willing to take the backlash in public for speaking out.

And then the irony of her deleting her Twitter right after Alecs death really solidifies...

Also of note, she retweeted some chick that has a locked account that apparently must be her BFF now on the fight against Alec's tyranny. EDIT: That Kate chick's account isn't locked anymore

I find it so hilarious that people are clutching their pearls at this. Users on this site are constantly telling people to kill themselves and most of the people mad at this never even heard of Alec prior to this event. Its all just leftover gamergate drama. It's addictive to follow but its a waste of time.

One thing to take away from this is that you don't have to be part of a scene to be a good artist or creator. These scenes (and its not exclusive to indie games) are full people that want to be a part of something but don't always have the skills, and think that being a game dev makes you special. There are always figures who are worshiped in a very unhealthy way which lets them get away with so much. On top of that, there is potential to make a lot of money and attention. It's like a cult, and only a few people actually getting anything out of it.

One thing I don't see mentioned a lot in these threads are how many hard drugs are abused in both large companies and small indie studios. I occasionally do contract work for companies in Northern and Southern California and so many people I meet are on adderall or abuses cocaine regularly. People don't realize how bad that stuff is for you if it is used constantly, especially if you are over 30. It can make you very paranoid and have very bad long last effects.

My very first post here, but due to the recent events surrounding Alec I just had to register.

Alec sounds like he was a kind soul that meant well. Just that his mental illnesses interfered with his intents. I understand that because I am the same way. What he did wasn't abuse by any stretch of the imagination as I lived through plenty of that to know. He just made mistakes and people took it wrong. Now he's being used again by his frenemies. Scott and Bethany are the worst since they were given a chance to better themselves. They ended up choosing to back-stab the man who tried to make them successful.

Zoe did this all for attention, but I'm leaning heavily on the theory that she coordinated this all with Scott, Bethany, and possibly Alec's sister. If his sister is his only relative then she gets it all. It's amazing what people will do for money and success. I'm disgusted with them all and the entire outrage culture. Not a single one of these cretins can prove anything and didn't go to the police. This automatically makes me discount what they claim.

But judging from what I see rooting through ZQ's asspats I get the idea they all completely knew that he would off himself.
I strongly suspect that Katey first brought out the Alec thing and Chelsea pounced on it.

Funny how Chelsea suddenly "remembered" all this stuff that "happened" to her just when the game was getting a Switch release, which would be a huge payday to anyone who owns the IP. :thinking:

Due to several treaties the US has with Canada, namely extradition, it is possible that the Crown Courts will put out a warrant for her arrest then push it through the State Department and other US agencies. It's happened in the past and will happen in the future. The question is whether or not the Canadian justice system will prosecute.
