Just for fun, let’s run through what the Farms has been accused of here. Note, I am exceptional and not a law, so don’t take much away from this.
1. Defamation. Defamation is hard to prove or win with, especially in a case like this. To our knowledge, Padma hasn’t incurred damages from us making fun of her. She had no name to ruin, no money was lost because of us. Don’t think it would work.
2. Harassment. To my knowledge, no one called them up or fucked with them. Only gossiping and shittalking about her. She’s been left alone. Most of us follow the Prime Directive. Don’t think it would work.
3. Copyright. Everything here falls solidly into fair use due to criticism and ridicule. Don’t think it would work.
4. Stalking. Everything we found was simply public record or on her own sites, nothing we know about her was from sorting through her mail or anything like that. We don’t intend her any harm, it’s just gossip. It may be mean, but I don’t think it counts as stalking. Don’t think it would work.
4. Cyber bullying. I don’t even know if this is illegal. And we’re just gossiping amongst ourselves, not sending her mean tweets or whatever. Don’t think it would work.
5. Doxxxxxing. Not illegal in most of the U.S as far as I know. Everything here is public record anyways. Business directories, social media, websites she put up herself, none of this information was gained through illegal means. Don’t think it would work.
I feel bad for Padma, she’s being fleeced by these ‘forensic investigators’ who can’t even name statutes or get the usernames and websites right. They aren’t even lawyers, they just supposedly have ‘in-house counsel’ that I don’t trust is competent for one second. Gossiping about someone who may be mentally not OK may be mean, but exploiting them for money is just wrong.
