because people are stupid and everyone thinks they have a sharp new takewhy did I read another three pages of the same arguments about notaries? It's getting repetitive.

The judge COULD impose sanctions, but it's more likely that's for another hearing entirely with everything that's been happening.Would tomorrow be where the Judge would impose sanctions on any side? Or is that reserved for his ruling?
Could be either.Would tomorrow be where the Judge would impose sanctions on any side? Or is that reserved for his ruling?
What was Lemonheads point in doing this then
why did I read another three pages of the same arguments about notaries? It's getting repetitive.
I think it's safe to assume that whether Lemoine already knows it or not, he'll need a lot of therapy after this case.
His actions for a long time can only be explained by the fact that he has lost touch with reality.
IF VIC WINS
these people will be exposed as folks who caused chaos in a company, committed tortious interferance and made their company liable
why would you hire these people
My read is that he's feeling a lot of pressure to deliver on his "TCPA specialist" status. While law is technically practiced in view of the public, most lawyers usually argue in obscurity because the things they're arguing about are tedious and boring. He's got an audience enthusiastically watching him and waiting for either success or failure this time
I do not think he's handling this self-employed pressure particularly well, and we'd likely be seeing a very different set of filings if he wasn't on twitter or youtube
Long time lurker here, just a newfag, but is it the consensus that no matter what the Judge rules, either side will end up appealing?
Personally I think Nick's hammering on Funimation has them looking for any exit that they can find. Nick supposedly has more artillery waiting so just as Funimation gets things smoothed over with Toei and Sony another scandal hits.
At some point the upper management of Funimation will realize that Christopher Sabat is using them as a shield in the hope that Vic runs out of funds or will power. If they don't then everyone at Funimation will be without a job and Gen Fukugawa? (Funimations founder) has a worthless company.
Monica Rial was sounding exhausted and weary back in February and only Funimation speaking up on Twitter kept her going. Without Funimation she won't have a job or leverage to get into conventions. Sabat's going to have so many problems he won't care about Monica.
And from the sounds of it, everyone hopped on board because the TCPA would protect them. If the TCPA fails then people will be faced with another year of this madness.
Once one gives up and surrenders everyone else gets screwed over.
Ron's is already texting witnesses. He'll do something stupid and get tossed in jail.
yeah but if vic wins, we can always point to vic and say " look it only took 1 person to get the ball rolling to ruin a man's life" "corporate investigations are worhtless if we cant see them." etc whenever the next zoe quinn accuses someone. It doesn’t matter if Vic wins. They have already been exposed as such. Sabat’s Funimation Casting Couch is now a thing. It is now out in the public air how horrible a place Funi is. From Colleen Klinkenbeards description of her first job being edited into porn by Sabat, to Huber and Ayers admissions as to the climate, to the infamous audio leaks showing what they do at work. RonRon is now publicly known as a violent serial wife beater and complete psychotic. All the skeletons in their closets have been daylighted.
These people are a complete liability. They brought expensive legal exposure to their employers and business partners. Win or lose they will end this in a worse place then they placed Vic.And that’s the truly remarkable thing in all of this. Given all of their own personal baggage why would they start this?
I mean just look at Rial. She’s accusing Vic of vague bad acts from decades ago. That actual witnesses say never happened. Vic is an abuser because Jellybean! But she lives with an actual violent serial abuser. So clearly her judgement on what constitutes abuse is observably flawed?

The funny thing with a company that's owned by a third party is that they actually don't have money. They have a responsibility towards their owners to spend as little as possible on this lawsuit. If Funimation tries stalling tactics and keeps it going for years, then Sony would not be happy, because in the end it's Sony paying for the lawsuit over trouble started by Funimation. The most likely scenario if Funimation tried that would be that Sony would just shut them down because it's cheaper. Funimation doesn't really have that many options, their money isn't their own. They can try to prolong the lawsuit itself for years (they have money).
This is where Nick and the media component are needed. To force Funimation to turn everyone in.
They dont have THAT MUCH moneyFunimation has other options. They can get off the hook through TCPA now, or through an appeal (if they are lucky). They can try to prolong the lawsuit itself for years (they have money).

And remember: "they want this all public!" LOL Choke on it, faggots. It doesn’t matter if Vic wins. They have already been exposed as such. Sabat’s Funimation Casting Couch is now a thing. It depends on if they can file an interlocutory appeal or notWould Funimation be more likely to settle, or appeal if they happen to lose their TCPA case?

Lemonjello assumes that Chris can be the only person using or even running that instagram account. He also assumes that the person who took that picture and the person using the account are the same person. Not sure, I stopped bothering to look into the photo when Ty and Nick basically admitted he wasn't in their presence. When Nick streamed last night he never once said or indicated Ty has notarized the documents properly or that people claiming Ty and the Slatosch were in different places were wrong. Instead he went with "Does it matter though?" reinforcing the idea that Ty and the affiant(s) were not in the same location.
Ty's response to stream chat was just "I admit, I fucked up I won't make excuses" etc...
At this point there is every reason to believe that the documents were not notarized properly. As a reminder:
- Slatosch was scheduled to be a con during this time, and did post a photo at the very least implying he was there, although he may not have been physically in the frame, so maybe tried to fake being there for some reason? Unlikely and unnecessary imo, but whatever, moving on.
- Ty has repeatedly affirmed there were "defects in form" and while he hasn't specifically enumerated what "defects in form" means, he immediately withdrew the documents in question and resubmitted minus the notary and has as of yet not produced any Notary log to verify the notarization was proper
- Ty has admitted to messing up, and never specifically denied that Slatosch was in San Antonio
- The running line by Nick and Ty has not been to deny the improper Notary, but instead to contest the relevance or significance of it
If anyone still denies that Ty fucked up the Notary they are fighting a battle even Ty and Nick have opted out of. Argue that you think it doesn't matter, but arguing it didn't happen at this point is... beyond optimistic.
I believe Nick said a frivolous motion for sanctions can actually be sanctionableOther than catching him at or the night before the hearing which seems preferable, why are people laughing at the motion for sanctions? Any lawyer worth hiring would absolutely fire off a motion for sanctions about the notary stuff and might as well include the late filing bit while he's at it. It seems like a rather good enough filing that gets the point across while asking for the moon. Asking for the moon while actually hoping for a slice of cheese isn't exactly a new practice in law.
I don't foresee this affecting Vic or necessarily affecting his case. I could definitely see Ty getting sanctioned over it and having to pay monetary damages commensurate with the time it took to suss out the interesting notarial practices and fees associated with filing something about it. I could also see this being bad for Ty's notary license. At least someone will finally be able to submit a good ethics complaint to the Texas Bar Association.
