What holden doesn't get is that marriage is rarely done out of necessity anymore. Or he gets it but he doesn't like it because THAT'S why he can't get a wife.
Marriage is done because two people find themselves compatible enough to spend the rest of their lives together. It is no longer done for the sake of merging property and making babies. So, unfortunately, divorce occurs when those two people find themselves no longer compatible enough to spend the rest of their lives together.
Holden thinks that women should HAVE to marry a man to support her. That there is no way a single mom can work hard enough to support her own child and not need welfare. And, of course, Holden doesn't think women should even have jobs that pay well enough for a woman to support herself and her child.. so she's dependent on a man.
And again, this is literally all because Holden can't get a wife. That's the only reason he has any issues with welfare or women working. He wants to go back to the "good old days" of women staying home and sexing their husbands while cooking dinner. And of course, the 60% baby mortality rate. He probably loves that. Or all the diseases. Lack of vaccinations. All that. Because, of course, women NEVER had ANYTHING to do with the cures for anything...

You know what I see, @Holden? I see you growing up and having an awkward puberty, stumbling through the teen years (shit, who doesn't?), and maybe you didn't have the strongest support system or a good group of friends. You felt alone, and weren't terribly good at meeting girls. You're... 25, right? About the time that you'd start feeling like there was something wrong with you for not having a girlfriend... there's the internet. You look for advice there, and by golly, there are communities of people who have the same problems you do!
You spent a few years reading up on loveshies and incels and the MRA movement, and it started to become more permanently wired into your brain than you know. That's the rub of communities like that... they're not about help, they're about forming an echo chamber where they reinforce the "We're right, everyone else is wrong/it's everyone else's fault!" ideal. This is especially damaging when you're a mid-to-late teenager.
Flash-forward a few years and you're eschewing any contact that doesn't involve the people you've met from these sites. You can't meet girls because you don't go out, but you blame it on society and not a lack of socialization. The whisper you put forth into the echo chamber gets louder... and louder... and louder until it's all you can hear. "Feminism destroyed society!" "Women only want thugs!" "All women are sluts!" "Men don't have any rights!" "Women only want to strip men of rights!"
You know what? For all the trolling I do of you, it ain't too late, broheim. All you need to do is find out what words are coming from the echo chamber, and what words are actually true. Do some non-incel-related research. Hell, go to a library and read a random book. Look at the world without the MRA lens. You might be able to live a good life yet.
