It's time to go to war, fellow kiwis.

lol no it isn't. We try to dox people all the fucking time, we absolutely deserve to be targeted back and we should welcome it. It's not "time for war", it's not time to get mad, it's time to keep on doing exactly what we were already doing because this is just ip's and throwaway emails and doesn't matter. I don't use a VPN and I'm not even bothering to change my password bc that's coward talk.

Funny how you never see a site like REE, Pox or The Daily Dot get DDoSed or compromised, but KF, 8chan and Billy D are all prime targets for fuckery. Yes, I'd wager some libtard is behind most, if not all of these. I could also point at a certain danger hair whose breath smells of salty coins and malk. Mostly because the blood on her hands has been a hot topic lately and she has a history of this very thing.

But that's all speculation of course. In the meantime all I can do is change my password. Can we change our account e-mail addresses as well?

correct me if I'm wrong since I'm smooth brained at tech but an ip just gives a general area of where one lives, not a specific address, so they are just trying to find a needle in a haysack with that shit

I believe you can figure out what ISP they use, and then you can later try to subpoena that ISP to force them to hand over subscriber details, but unless you're Google / Comcast / et al then you have to go through a judicial hearing. Oh, also other websites you use could cross-correlate it; if you have a reddit account and the reddit admins wanted to, they could ban any user who has used the same IP as in the leaked addresses.

OH NOOOOO.jpg

No context needed.

Depends on the ISP. Some assign IPs to small geographical areas, others just NAT them all over the shop, so they could narrow you to a town, or they could know that you're somewhere in a particular country.

The "we're safe" really tells you how much they fear having any amount of information come out about themselves. They think that this is somehow a decisive offensive move of any kind. Maybe for some of the chumps. Not everyone, though. And I'm going to laugh if some of the users who jumped on to pretend to be kiwis or otherwise attack the forum end up getting fucked with as a result.

Just don't use Reddit then, honestly the best bit of advice right there.

Oh no. People know I use a VPN. What ever shall I do.
Even if you don't use a VPN, you're probably safe. As people have mentioned already in this thread, an IP address only gives a general location, not your exact location. You're only kind of fucked if you used your real email address or basically anything that can be traced back to you (I'm willing to bet that most users don't use a VPN but at the same time haven't used a email that can be traced back to them or anything). Unless you're an exceptional faggot who used their real email address then you're fine. Even then, laughing at idiots on the internet isn't illegal.
