It'll locate the city you live in and more or less a general area. Or y'know, whatever VPN server you were using at that time.

OK so I looked at the leak.


This is basically beyond nothing. All that was exposed if you got hit was:


A) Your email

B) Your IP

C) The names of the conversations you started, and seemingly not the actual conversation. So they know who PMed you.

D) The names of the threads you posted in or started, whoever started the thread, the last poster in said thread, and not the content.

E) The chats at the time it was accessed.

The only thing I'm not sure of is what the "hp" files show, but it is similarly not much.

Internet provider. They'd have to jump through a lot of legal hoops to narrow it down further.

A VPN isn't a bad idea, but it's not nearly as important as not having an e-mail that is personally identifying. A VPN is more important if you are doing shit you don't want the government to find out about.

What these morons on Twitter don't grasp is they get doxed because they leave PII all over the damn place. Not through hacking. This hack revealed nothing on anyone except the most exceptional people.
