A lot of them still weren't funny, because they thought "Fuck Republicans" was adequate as a joke. "Bush is so dum hurr hurr hurr" and then the listeners would start barking like seals.

They appealed to enough people to pave the way for Obama. But they were able to do it in a way that didn’t make them sound like a bunch of deranged danger hairs who wanted to cram hormone blockers down the throats of children.

I saw something I thought I'd never see again, someone on Reddit, making fun of trump for saying something about respecting women, and it was actually funny, I legit laughed. The trick was he didn't break character at any point by saying "And that's why Drumph needs impeached" or showing his inner rage. It's sad that we don't have more of it, because Trump is a gold mine for hilariously weird speeches that are ripe for parody.
