This also colored the backstory of the game's hero. He did end up toughing it out.

All the best games are made as labors of love. Cave Story is one of the best platformers ever made and the story, music, art, and programming were like 99.9% done by one guy. Devil May Cry 5 is one of the deepest and best hack 'n slash games on the market and the only reason it got made was because the dev told Capcom he wanted to restore faith in the series and wouldn't touch another project until they let him have his way. It turned out to be fucking amazing.

Indie gaming is full of unspoken, informal handshake deals and studios with single-digit staff. Shittons of projects are completed by contractors. None of these people are beholden to any human resources entity. Look at the Starbound fiasco; all those people not getting paid are all the result of people working informally. You need to be hired on by an entity large enough to have an HR department to be held to any sort of established standard.

Still the only creative work she's actually made besides Goddess Mode and I guess her Crash Override book.

Unless you want to count all her lies about being abused as creative work.

That's a good way to treat them. RT's bias is pro-Russia, and since there's a lot of western news that Papa Putin doesn't give a shit about, leaving them free to do actual objective reporting, it can actually be a more reliable source on a lot of things than traditional western media.

Depends on how generously you throw around the word dev. Is someone who made a shitty Newgrounds flash game a dev? In defense of visual novels, most of them have actual visual assets, choices that matter, and more than one looping piece of piano music for a soundtrack. Calling Depression Quest a visual novel is unfair to visual novels. Visual novels take far more time and skill to make.
