I can only speak from experience. In my family, often the women had the run things because some of the men were special. My mom often complained of having to raise 3 children. My sibling and I along with my dad; who was... well an idiot.

The women in my family had jobs back in the 50's and earlier. They had to. That is why to me, strong women are important.
