The fucking astounding thing about cancel culture is that people want to hold others accountable for shit they did 10 years ago but these same fucking people will be silent about their sexual assault for years and not go to the authorities. Like, if you can hold someone accountable for a gay joke they made forever ago, then they can hold you accountable for letting your rapist freely rape the block while you did nothing.

That is not at all astounding. All cancel culture is is a path to money and power. There is no noble principle behind it.

Or when the accuser has skeletons in the closet of their own and then want to bitch and moan when they get dealt the same hand they dealt others.

I find that people who have a guilty conscience virtue signal the most, just like most SJWs are actually super racist.

People who stay neutral or indifferent don't really have anything to hide.

A wounded animal tends to be the most aggressive as a defense mechanism. The wounded animals on KV are the ones to watch out for as well as those on the ISWV side.

There is also a difference between an empty threat and true vitriol.

I just hope if this all goes awry that Vic doesn't neck himself. Reading over some of the transcript of his depo yesterday, and how the dude talks about his feelings of betrayal and lack of motivation to do voice work lately, it's sad. And the way they dragged those emails between him and his fiance were gross. Michele is emotionally invested and clearly wrathful, but she was dead wrong for doing that, taking a private matter completely public.

at that point it's up to his fans to be vocal enough and make clear that their money only flows where Vic goes. I'm certain that even IF Vic were to lose the case his fans would stand behind him and bring their wallets wherever he goes. Sure that means his income would decrease from when Funi was still hiring him but that's gonna be the case either way.

It was the people that senpai had on with his panel before he closes his show. Honestly i haven't paid attention to han after she mixed up vic with monica's ex.
We do have a thread about her right now for couple months, and - in chronological order - she has moved twice since the Vic situation has started. She started from the United States, she then moved to Japan after the lawsuit against Funimation, Moronica and Marchi has started, and she recently ended up moving to Canada when she came back on Twitter as enta_jinnai/eijilynx.

I'm not entirely sure if the money matters to Vic more than his perception as a person. I imagine he's aware not everyone liked him before this, even, but this is an entirely different thing he's going to need to learn to live with...actually no matter how this case pans out.

absolutely correct but bringing the money to whoever hires vic tells them "We like Vic. Bring him in and we THROW these green wads at you". This tells Vic that he is still perceived as a very talented and pleasant person by a ton of people that matter a lot to him. People he cared for enough to remember them over several year long gaps want to honor him and his work and person and their only way to do so is to hand their money to employers

Plus Vic did say in his depo that he did get job offers not long after he was fired, he just didn’t take them up on it at the time because that period of time was especially rough for him. Despite Funi and RT cutting him loose, it’s clear other places either didn’t care about the controversy or don’t believe the allegations. Vic’s a popular VA so they were probably jumping for joy they might be able to snatch him up for a project since he won’t be held back by obligations to his former employers.

Add to that Vic also writes and performs music of his own which you can find on iTunes. And he also mentioned in his depo he also writes music for commercial jingles on the radio.

His fans will support him no matter what and will absolutely pay through the nose to any convention that supports him.

Win or lose all is not lost for Vic, he’ll still have his fans and job opportunities.

And regardless of a win or loss, RT and Funimation (the latter of the two most especially) absolutely damaged their reputations. They lost several subscribers and fans and both will forever be wrapped up in these controversies. Many of the KV folks have tarnished their reputations (if any ever had any good ones to begin with). Monica, Jamie, and Kara were already practically nobodies, this just sealed their fates. The VA’s who allied with them have ruined any goodwill as well. Sean Schemmel already was losing respect after his stint with Peter Kelamis last year, but now he’s put the nail in his own coffin after all his sperging against Vic and his fans. Chris Sabat is slowly but surely losing the trust and respect he once had with even casual anime fans.

Win or lose, Vic will be able to make the most of this I’m sure. It will never be the same but he’ll be able to overcome it and move on with his life I bet. Funimation and RT and all the exceptional individuals that attached themselves to this controversy however can only pray Vic loses the lawsuit. They already lost so much support and respect and it keeps dwindling by the day.

The internet may move on to the next meme to spam or controversy to obsess over...but the internet never forgets.

This will stick with these people for the rest of their sad miserable little lives.

Their little scheme to cancel Vic blew up in their faces and only outed them as scum and liars while their target only gained more supporters in the process.

Hey you KV speds who I know are absolutely lurking these threads while you froth at the mouth behind your keyboards...I only have one thing to say to you:
I hope it was worth it.

"This just in: Vic doesn't like fatties!"

I know I'm not the first to say this, but this is why I suggest everyone roll as hard on those people as they want to roll on folks who made edgy tweets/jokes. As I've said in other posts, I'm of the opinion that if you know for a fact that someone is rapist/predator, either through firsthand experience or other quantifiable evidence, and you don't report them to the police, you're just as bad as they are. I wish more people had mentioned this to Jamie and Monica, that they're both rape apologists/perpetuators.

Unrelated: is anyone else having periodic issues with the site not working correctly? I'm not complaining, only curious.

I feel like Vic is just tired. We all tend to forget Vic is human and he was shoved in the dead center of quite honestly this stupid ass war. At one point, it was great as it let Vic push back and get his foot in the door in places he would never have been to. On the other side, the community is degrading and just sick of this. These people are fighting a war anime fans don't want for them. Vic will always receive support because he has remained professional, but people are just sick and disgusted with everyone else. So they just jump ship instead of looking at the facts.

As much fun as it is to poke fun and laugh at these snakes if not hate them, they were childhood heroes to a lot of people. And that is the real tragedy. I liked most of these VAs work and thought they did their jobs decent enough.
