From what I read the sibling thing was an old plot point folded in from some sequel trilogy ideas GL planned in the 80s that he gave up on after getting tired of working on everything-- Luke's sister was a different character to be introduced in it and the Emperor would have been fought in those stories. Granted this was before Darth Vader and Luke's father were made into the same character.
I also read that "there is another" was written to imply to the audience that Luke was not protected by plot armor and could have very well have been killed by Vader.
I can't help but wonder what a sequel trilogy with the original cast circa perhaps the late 80s and early 90s where they fight the Emperor would have been like.
So... anyone remember the SW author of the Phasma book (among others) who's obsessed with menstruations and polyamory shit? Well it turns out that she and the current senior editor of Del Rey publishing have been celebrating on Twitter for some time due to that the most recent Galaxy's Edge book Black Spire confirmed that Vi Moradi (the awful and failing park's original donut steal character and STAR) is a "confirmed asexual".

The book is about asexual awareness to them? I'm pretty sure you are a slug, miss. A hutt to be precise.
Also of note is that the woman currently running the Star Wars social media accounts is a fucking crazy as fuck lolcow and uber feminist who thinks the evil cis male nazis are out to get her and destroy SW for poor and defenseless little non-binary girls of color everywhere and that Kathleen Kennedy is just as bad for not hiring a woman of color to direct SW. She's gone batshit insane and is even attacking her own superiors. As a reminder, she only got this gig because Kennedy wanted more woke women at Lucasfilm. I hope Ms. Kennedy is not regretting her decisions...

Bravo Kennedy. Someone actually made a whole video about this crazy bitch and her spergouts.

In some lighter news, Mark Hamill took another jab at Galaxy's Edge, which is still suffering from less than impressive attendance, especially in Florida.
Gross, this is what Star Wars and all of pop culture is boiling down to folks, just self wankery for mentally broken weirdos to pat themselves on the back.
Homosexuality and all that is a little more open for debate, but I definitely draw the line at "asexuality", sexual desire is one of the most basic human needs and the orgasm is literally the most pleasurable physical sensation possible, anyone who can't appreciate or understand that is defective in the head, there's no way around that, it's not healthy or natural, treating that as just another sexual identity is the peak of absurdity.
Call me a bigot if you want, I don't care (not saying anyone here will, just referring to SJWs)
But all that aside it's just so fucking boring to imagine only wanting media that reflects who you are, I've always appreciated being challenged by stuff, one of the reasons I went so gaga for Japanese culture was precisely because it was something foreign and unfamiliar to me.
And this is how it played out in that Vader easily overpowered him in ESB and could have killed him had he really wanted to. Worse, Luke despite completing most of his training in Yoda's eyes almost died again at the hands of the emperor who dialed his Force Lightning up to 11 in his attempt to kill Luke. Luke being defeated by stronger villains on account of incomplete training was plausible, realistic, and definitely showed a lack of plot armor.
NGL, it wouldn't surprise me if Episode IX shows Rey defeating any foe in her way just by blinking because her plot armor is just that thick. Just what we need: a Mary Sue who can defeat enemies with no formal training or experience simply because the writers want omnipotent female characters.
How many people besides diehard SW spergs -- and those in the alphabet soup group to be more specific -- actually care about this? Take away the Tumbrlinas and I'm sure the answer will be "not many."
It reminds me of Indiana Jones, despite being a badass and cool character, he's
always getting his ass kicked and comes out ahead by the skin of his teeth, watching a character struggle to succeed is far more exciting and compelling than just having them easily win at any challenge.
He's also sometimes a dork, like when the college girl is lusting after him, he's dumbstruck and doesn't know how to react or when he shows real vulnerability with Marion on the ship.
The point is a good character needs
layers and that's what SJW characters always lack, it's always just surface level shit with them, usually boiling down to literally just their race, gender and/or sexual identity, it's about what they "represent", they're not even supposed to feel like real people.
There was nothing wrong with having a female protagonist for the sequel trilogy, there's nothing with female protagonists in general, but they till have to be actual characters.
