Ok, so I was scrolling through FB and saw Talib Kweli post this shit.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this one of the recent Zoe orbiters that was tweeting about muh laday?
I'm not sticing up for that annoying little chosen boyim, just pretty sure I saw this same pic a bit ago on this thread.

Talib Kweli? He's def not a made up person, old school hip hop legend.
*I need to add an edit here as I think there's some confusion. The picture is what I'm referring to being a twitter account pic recently, not Talib himself.

"Old school rap legend" that I didn't hear of while listening to NWA, Wu-Tang, and various other early-90's rappers? I heard of Del tha Funky Homosapien years before I heard of Kweli.

He's got the pedigree. More of an east coast niche thing, tho.
The producer was what made his Black Star albums special, he's kind of a middling early oughts late 90's conscious rapper.
Here's one of his best known tracks.

He's in the same niche as early Mos Def.

I've at least heard of Mos Def, and he sucked, so if Kweli is anything like that, I didn't miss anything. I saw him being completely exceptional on twitter a few times, and was obviously correct is steering well away from that particular garbage fire.

SocJus has really pumped up the egos of A LOT of Hip Hop artists and fucked up their prime directive completely. That behavior you saw in Talib is happening across the board. Identity politics have fucked up underground and independent hip hop like NOTHING else. Historically, if you wanted to whine about something you had to make it entertaining ('911 is a joke' from public enemy comes to mind).

Simply bitching about things and tossing out hate used to be a hip hop no-no. It's like the Old Boy quote dear leader uses - "Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone." You're not supposed to bitch about shit, you're supposed to be making undeniable art/music/poetry or dance. Inspire others. Change the world with your output.

Example, Hip Hop itself is in large part a response to socioeconomic discrimination - Poor people couldn't get into the popular discos, so they started throwing their own parties that were way more fun and real. They didn't fucking picket Studio 54. Miring yourself in the negative aspects of your situation doesn't help you transcend it. You transcend boundaries in Hip Hop by understanding mass appeal and then acting.

It's not just Talib who's lost the plot. I swear to God - 95% of these grievance lords were something completely different 8-10 years ago.

The story of NITW unwittingly lays it out, IMO. It's a tribal mentality, sacrificing certain souls to an ideal in hopes of perpetuating their own collective relevancy.
Maybe not even unwittingly. I'd say this is definitely a valid reading, seeing as the subtext of the entire game is"grow the fuck up and quit whining". Methinks Alec had some misgivings about SocJus from the beginning.

I appreciate the vague hip hop head snobbery but nobody has answered my question.
If we need to get into a late 80's to early 2000's hip hop dick measuring contest, I guess we can but I don't really want to.
I'm just curious about a fucking picture.
Seriously, can anybody answer me if that is a recycled pic from a Zoe orbiter?
For the love of fuck.

I'm pretty sure that's a meme picture. I don't think the guy who posted it was seriously implying it was the dude himself, but more making a joke about his m'lady comment "you have my sword".

If a lot of NITW came about after Gamergate, which it seems to have, then Alec would have seen someone he'd been in an emotionally abusive relationship with get celebrated for having been emotionally abusive to another boyfriend after him. I think it would be no surprise that he might have had misgivings about mob mentality and what people will do for what they tell themselves is the greater good, even when there's personal gain wrapped up in it as well.

Ethan Van Sciver, Ya Boi Zack, and Jon Malin are currently discussing the Zoe Quinn situation on a livestream. They're making a convincing argument that the goal of SJWs is to get people to kill themselves when they "cancel" them.

Haven't seen that video yet but it's a common thing through Tumblr sjws so there might be some truth to it.
Edit:
Especially since a lot of cancel culture started there. I wish I remember the name of some of these sjws that were involved in such things because many deserved a lolcow status.

five hours and 22 minutes; you got time-stamps nigga?

Something very interesting has happened: The indie gamedev scene and it's minions have shut the fuck up. The Kotaku gang, Jason Schreier, Luke Plunkett, Nathan Grayson, etc, have been completely and utterly silent on this story. It's like they know they completely blew it and that they're going to be eaten alive unless they bunker down and wait it out. It's not gonna happen. People are never gonna forget this one.

Now I'm having flashbacks to the Zami shit where tumblr SJW's bullied a fan artist over drawing a Steven Universe character's skin too light so badly she attempted suicide (which was confirmed legit, hospital records and pictures and everything) and some of them were celebrating afterwards. Then some of them got in actual legal trouble and whined about it.

So yeah, some of these people really do want the people they target to kill themselves. I don't think most of the crew related to Zoe and Alec is like that though, not because they're more moral, but for entirely selfish practical reasons. They don't have the luxury of being anonymous nobodies so they must have realized very quickly that Alec's suicide was going to tarnish their professional images.

Notably, the Zami shit actually caused tumblr to become a slightly less toxic website as people turned on the most evil of these types of cunts, which seems like it may be happening to the indie game dev scene now.

Agreed. It's also worth noting, however, that more information is yet to drop on The Post Milennial. It's good sense to stay quiet until it all comes out, lest they say something that ends up being even more incriminating.
