Yeah, it says a lot that anti-GG clickabait does well, but no one besides Penny and Doctorow wrote articles defending Zoe after the suicide. It reminds me of how there weren’t any articles from actual news outlets defending Nyberg ( although Berlatsky did sneak a bit about Nyberg into one article)

They're waiting for the other shoe to drop from TPM or they're waiting for more allegations from other studios to get the ball rolling. It could be a combination of both, but this isn't over until another person that is accused commits suicide.

Now I'm having flashbacks to the Zami shit where tumblr SJW's bullied a fan artist over drawing a Steven Universe character's skin too light so badly she attempted suicide (which was confirmed legit, hospital records and pictures and everything) and some of them were celebrating afterwards. Then some of them got in actual legal trouble and whined about it.

So yeah, some of these people really do want the people they target to kill themselves. I don't think most of the crew related to Zoe and Alec is like that though, not because they're more moral, but for entirely selfish practical reasons. They don't have the luxury of being anonymous nobodies so they must have realized very quickly that Alec's suicide was going to tarnish their professional images.

Notably, the Zami shit actually caused tumblr to become a slightly less toxic website as people turned on the most evil of these types of cunts, which seems like it may be happening to the indie game dev scene now.

I have to agree that they want people to commit suicide or do other atrocities. I'm waiting for one of the accused to start shooting his accusers. In the first case, cancel culture loses big time as the bodies start to pile up. In the latter case, cancel culture gets a boost because it proves them to be right about toxic men.

I'm tempted to be callous here because these folks enabled this crap. They let it happen to other people long before now. They only care about it now because it's hitting them not the conservatives they hate. On the other hand, I believe in the presumption of innocence and justice. Both of which are in serious short supply at all levels. These SJWs are going to keep going after their enablers and defenders because normal people just don't give a crap or are starting to push back. I bet that normal people are going to be like, "Well he enabled it and covered for these women all these years, so he deserves it." Apathy is far worse for them because it doesn't generate outrage or clicks.

The first time that happens, that's the ball game. People are only staying mum because the accusers are still around and aren't looking good with how things have shaken out. If one person gets shot or otherwise hurt or killed over this, that will be the only example that will ever get headlines, and it will, for months and months regardless of what else happens.

For the love of God, anyone high profile enough reading here to get targeted by these chucklefucks: don't say anything if it happens. Do not react publicly. Lawyer up if at all possible. Talk only to the people you know you can trust.

These are the only things that have worked to stem the tide so far.

I have to agree that they want people to commit suicide or do other atrocities.

One of their most common chants in the past was "kill yourself", it's not seeing as much use these days but that's only because they started to get suspended for mobbing someone and telling them to kill themselves, the Stephen Universe fan-artist is a good example of how they can get traction and how they completely lack remorse for something as trivial as a teen trying to kill themselves for drawing a cartoon character in the wrong hue.
I think "kys" came about as a way to avoid word filters, there was also 'die in a fire' and the classy 'get cancer'. All variations on the same theme with a shared desired outcome, only mothballed because they don't want to get banned/suspended for saying it.

Is it possible that there are people in cancel culture that actually hopes that a person ends up cancelling their life? Absolutely.

Oftentimes, people will say that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, but in Alec's case, his problem was a permanent one. The guy would never work EVER again. He was unemployable. Keep in mind that Zack is someone who literally went through all this shit. They pulled out all the stops trying to take him down. They doxed him, they called his employers and tried to get him fired from his IT job, they made subtle threats against his kids, they made actual plans to track him down at comic book conventions and beat him up or put him in a situation where he had to fight back to defend himself (which would be spun to make him look like the aggressor). They did everything they could possibly think of to try and ruin his life, all because he made fun of shitty comics in his closet with an iPhone. They literally tried to make Zack kill himself, but they failed.

Zack spent several years living in actual war zones, being shot at by insurgents. He's actually stated that he has more respect for the Iraqi insurgents who were trying to kill him than SJWs.

She did just that and people cheered her on for being such a brave woman, note the two wildly different motivations between Zoe and her fan club for why Alec's cancelling was a good thing. Money and clout for her, Social justice for her fanclub.

Unfortunately for her when Alec got knocked down he cracked his skull and died. That wasn't the plan. She was going to posture over his ruined career and weep over the unfortunate necessity of holding people accountable, be they mentally ill or not, for the safety of all women, before she went off to relive her gamergate days of unlimited positive press and money. But now there's a corpse and her unthinking fanclub carried on with the celebration because mobs are fucking exceptional.

Alec's death is in no way a win for Zoe. You can't make the argument that his living wouldn't have been preferable to her. His corpse has only hamstrung her ability to garner positive attention, press and opportunities.
