Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I think hiring Vic back would be the wisest move for Rooster Teeth. Take the L, say the investigation was faulty and start healing the rift in their community and bring people back to subscriptions. They traded Vic and his built in fanbase for Monica who did maybe 20 minutes of audio for them.

Alas, I get the feeling that it is "too little, too late." AT&T bought Warner Media expecting a certain amount of dedicated subscribers and RT has probably bled most of theirs away. The trust and respect has withered away and been destroyed. They could rebuild if they had time. Which they don't.
Why the fuck would Vic WANT to go back to RT? Even barring what they did to him - they're still a sinking ship. They bring him back and he'll still be out of that job within the year.

Looks like TY and nick are cooking something up fellas

because Vic doesn't care about that. What he cares about is providing his voice to a product his fans enjoyed. He wants to continue being Qrow Branwen because in the past his fans greatly enjoyed his performance (Objectively speaking Qrow was one of the best voices after all). If that means RT is dead in a year that wont matter to him because he did what he set out to do. HIS BEST.

Can anyone translate? I do not speak Tynese.

Translation: Now this lawsuit actually gets going

I'm almost sure Funimation could get out of this for little more than a public retraction and turning over the records of the fake investigation. They they could go after Rial and her cuck and that simpering little fairy will spend the rest of his life writing mortgages to pay Vic.
This, anyone that thinks Funimation is going to back up MoRon if they have the opportunity to escape with minimal damages to their pockets, has a good look of the pyramids in their back yard.

Only way I see Funimation not yielding to a settlement would be external pressure. Like Sabat threatening to boycott them with all his connections and making all the VAs he can convince to threaten to deny doing Business with Funi if they settle with Vic.

But that hippotetical is dependent on way too many things to consider at this point, the important part right now if how mediation is going to be interesting.

Hey @AnOminous , just want to check if I get something accurate: This TCPA decision that Chupp has to drop eventually, is it his first official true responsibility on the case? I mean, he had to be brough in court to get Ty and Casey to play nice twice, but he didn't really do anything beyond being intimidating.

So, is his demand of mediation an attempt to have absolutely nothing to do with the case?

that would be a risky venture because it means he can't be vegeta anymore and we know how much his di- I mean pride rely on it.

Ty arranged the mediation.

Court-ordered mediation is fairly common actually. The timing is absolutely fucked, though. I think the judge realized he fucked up and this is his Hail Mary pass.
Yeah, the timing says something. This wouldn't be happening if the Defendants were about to exit.

The Judge also said if mediation fails, he will rule on all outstanding motions the next day. He hung a pretty big sword over everyone's heads.

Would love to know what this means for the 30-day ruling window on the TCPA motion to dismiss.

Well if this is an anime it probably means that after getting beaten by the villain the hero escaped death and did secret training off screen to come back and utterly destroy his foe.

Or maybe Ty had challenged Lemonhead to good ol’ Texas football and Lemonhead is about to get sacked by a bunch of mosquitoes.

Or maybe Ty is gonna finally reveal who he’s going after for Round Two.

Eh, who knows?

Absolutely nothing. It's a hard deadline. Not ruling means the motion is denied.

I don't know.

This is..interesting. Given how psycho Monica and Co are they are absolutely going to refuse anything that means they have to walk back their statements, and Lemonhead knows he is probably is boned with it comes to the Morons. I wonder if Ty is trying to make Lemonhead and the MoRons hate each other.

Pretty much this. If Qrow dies this season it would be nice to have Vic.

I used to be a mediator a long time ago and I can tell you, right now, court-ordered mediation only works if both parties are willing to reach any sort of compromise. It's difficult to compromise between "I want my life back" and "I want you dead".

Unless dying a little on the inside every day counts.

That's why I quit, incidentally.
