Stallman has been spergposting since before many Kiwis were alive, before the Internet was even a household word (does he still refuse to use webmail and print out his emails?) He is an epic autist. What if RMS was Chris and Sonichu was good? It'd be gcc. But to be fair, Chris is probably a little more autistic, and obviously not as smart, so he's obviously Null and if the farms were good they'd be egcsgcc. Which is really the only GNU program I've used outside of a few one-off projects with shit like gperf. EMACS basically is a literal symphony of autism, an operating system that is a text editor, sung in several shrilly autistic voices. I'm a vim guy, and in the past few years I mostly use clang. Of course my cp, ls, or even stuff like sed, yeah, I guess I use his, but alternate versions exist that are so exactly the same that only the most exponentially autistic people would care which ones they use (like RMS or people who refuse any "non-free software"...) Apart from gcc most of the GNU code is probably (C) circa 1994 and coded for a VAX; what lately worth noting?
RMS was/is obviously super smart but his autism would've been terminal long ago if Linus hand't chosen the GPL and happened to become a media darling, he is still permanently butmadd about that, and the GPL is exceptional in and of itself for many reasons, it's a fucking tankie/Stalinist document down to the Orwellian option of using "later versions" of the license (which will no doubt some day include pronouns.) I don't want to start a spergy slapfight or anything but I'm all for MIT/X11/BSD style licensing which is "free" "gratis" "libre" (with some restrictions) "libre" really means not "free as in speech" d/t the GPL. Nor is it "free as in beer." The GPL is free as in Communism (the Constitution of the USSR is really utopian, too!)
Speaking of which, it was on Usenet in linux-related groups (what a cluster of autism comp.os.linux.advocacy was) which lead me by the magic of clicking/typing in shit off people's fucking signatures and stuff, to find out stuff like what a furry was, and first encountered "gender neutral pronouns" and "the Elven community" and "technopagans." (Oh, and alt.drugs., which pretty much was formative in my development...) Autism begets autism begets autism. Whenever I see serious talk about Stallman I have to really remember that that overgrown Jewish hobbit is on a functional level with them, apart from the fact that he is a genius. But even that's fading.[/sneed]
