Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Hey @GeneralFriendliness, two things.

One, the Rise of the Resistance ride apparently sucks hard right now.

Two, is Disney going to re-add the Fox logo and fanfare in their new Blu ray and Disney+ editions of Episodes 1-6 since they own Fox now (which they sadly own but shouldn’t be)?

How does Wookieepedia even know the editor is a park employee? What's stopping anyone from finding the name of a park employee and writing articles about "Batuu Man" and his misadventures involving booze and spice and nudity?
I should also note that given enough time and materials, we could all make our own retarded OC articles on Wookieepedia. That's how bad the quality control on the site has gotten.

Anyway... on to the BIG news of the day...

>The already delayed Kylo Ren ride will be delayed even more due to complications with the ride, but Disney doesn't want to announce it yet to avoid losing Holiday bookings

>Park attendance is at an all time low as of September even with annual passports unlocked, with Florida GE being deader than California GE

>The budget at both parks is ballooning out of control beyond the initial 2.8 billion budget thanks to the malfunctioning Kylo Ren ride, which includes the trackless ride and laser features not working as intended among other faulty shit

>Hollywood Studios was plagued from the start with building issues - pieces in the wrong spots, flooding because scruppers were not installed either in time or at all, before major Florida rains came and wiped out $$$ of computer equipment, mold issues because of the water damage, whole crews/companies being fired and new ones coming in to basically start over. Rain even damaged Kylo Ren's ship

>Smuggler's Run is losing to not just Harry Potter but wait times are so low that even the Slinky Dog ride and Rock N Roller coaster are fucking it in the ass

Rian apparently isn’t sure if and when he’ll make his trilogy.
This seems like a very common cycle for Rian. He'll start being exceptional about a new trilogy and taunting fans, then about a week later goes into coy mode. I wonder if Disney rings him up each time to tell him off or if its just his new marketing strategy.

I've seen shills defending this due to customers/hr. Slinky Dog apparently maxes out at something like 1400/hr compared to 1800/hr on Smugglers Run. It's not hard to see this being bad though.

Has any good press come out for GE recently? Disney's staged 'look at what [celebrity] showed up' didn't seem generate anything and even opening the second park didn't get much buzz.

I can’t believe this was due to how short sighted Bob Iger really is. If they were going incorporate the OT/PT stuff to the park, all they had to do was pay George a big sum (shouldn’t be that difficult given how much money they make), but nope, they’re just as greedy as you expected.

It's still open and nobody has died there yet. I'm sure both of those are liable to change though lol
Considering that the Kylo Ren ride ends with the malfunctioning trackless trolley driving you into an escape pod/elevator that functions much like the Tower of Terror ride, chances are the stupid trolley may fail to secure itself correctly resulting in the passengers becoming bloody pancakes when the elevator drops, and security might not be able to tell something went wrong to stop the ride considering the reports about damaged computers, shitty installation and crappy construction within the ride. Or some exceptional fucker may jump out of the ride and run around the set since the ride is so slow and trackless. I can already imagine some crazy Reylo jumping out of the cart to hug the animatronic Kylo Ren...

Any fistfights on the Falcon ride yet?
As far as I know, nothing physical but there's been a lot of verbal hostility and crying kids over people shouting insults, obscenities and getting angry with their co-pilots for failing the mission or those assigned the pilot job not doing anything to fly the ship since tourists think the ride is like Star Tours, which it isn't. Supposedly there was almost some physical hostility in the California ride at one point early on, but the employees managed to break it up before anything of note actually happened.

Also Disney finally started posting the ingredients for their Vegan M;lk drink in the park...

In short... blue and green "m;lk" is just coconut oil, a shit ton of sugar, rice mix powder, artificial food coloring, tricalcium phosphate, maltodextrin, lot of questionable artificial "thickeners and stabilizers" and "natural flavors"... So much for their "all-natural fruits and ingredients" bullcrap. Would explain reports about several allergic reactions to the "m;lk". Still idiots will chug this down while bragging about its vegan wonders.

I think someone once tried to grope a Sally animatronic at the Haunted House.

As for the ride, they say they wanted it trackless for maximum "immersion", as if you're in the Disney trilogy, but all that's done is result in a huge technical mess and lots of delays. This honestly just sounds like a bad idea all around, especially since those holding annual passes and whatnot have the privilege of getting on the ride by themselves and doing who knows what while in there.

WDWmagic also has an entire thread dedicated to chronicling everything related to the Kylo Ren ride, like insider info, construction details, drama, WDI failures, etc, so it might be worth a look

They apparently have a Discord with even more info on the ride. They're also surprisingly merciless towards Disney.

On another note, I should mention that the Florida GE has started selling Alcoholic m;lk outside the cantina bar.

It can be bought in the same place as regular milk and they apparently taste like crap, although some seem to dislike the blue m;lk more (same with the non-alcoholic variant). Is Disney trying to sabotage the blue m;lk to make their shitty donut steal green milk more popular? Anyway, only way to tell the two apart is that the alcoholic ones come in cups that have square bottoms. This was apparently done to try and boost the sale of the shitty fake m;lk.

The point is a good character needs layers and that's what SJW characters always lack, it's always just surface level shit with them, usually boiling down to literally just their race, gender and/or sexual identity, it's about what they "represent", they're not even supposed to feel like real people.

The idea of layers is one that i like as well. Heroes with a hidden darkness they keep mostly hidden or heroes that shaemlessly use evil tactics to defeat an enemy when the situation is dire can make for interesting characters if developed properly because it gives fans a chance to see what makes them reveal their different layers. Similarly, villains that might be fallen heroes with some sort of gray morality can be effect because their ambivalence to harm people in certian situations shows their own layers and vulnerabilities which we don't always see in villains any more in an era where villains largely imitate unpopular politicians.

As you say, SJWs expect everything to be on the surface. Look at all the social media bios that try to cram in as many TMI details about the person so that little private detail is left to the imagination. People are more than those details but that seems to be something that is no longer grasped and casually overlooked or outright dismissed.

There was nothing wrong with having a female protagonist for the sequel trilogy, there's nothing with female protagonists in general, but they till have to be actual characters.

Any character can be a hero. As many of us have said however, heroes need to be relatible and have plausible strenghts and weaknesses. Rey has no apparent weaknesses and that's what makes her a bad protagonist. It has nothing to do with her gender.

Okay, I love The Emperor as a character. He is so unapologetically evil and enjoys being evil so much that he is just a delight to watch.

Even through we already know in the PT what Palpatine becomes, it was delightful to see him be so cunning and manipulative - especially when he orhcestrates the blockade of Naboo that helps him get the Chancellorship thanks to voters showing sympathy to Naboos plight. I bet they'd all be shocked beyond belief to know they voted in the man that orchestrated it. Once he was in power, he remained slyly cunning enough to set everything in motion that needed to be done in order for him to strike when the Jedi were stretched thin and leave them so decimated that nobody could stop him for well over 20 years. In short, he was a badass villain with long-term vision and accomplished it by being so subtle that nobody ever suspected how evil he was until it was way too late.

Dang, I recall WDWMagic being pretty heavy into huffing the pixie dust back when I regularly checked them out for WDW stuff. Is there an existing fanbase the mouse hasn't alienated with New Wars?

If you remove every other movie or piece of media, the original Star Wars is one of the best sci-fi movies of all time.

EDIT: I'm not sure if this came across correctly, I'm saying even if no other Star Wars media was released, the original Star Wars would be good on its own. Obviously I like Star Wars movies and media released after ANH.

Even the "good" movies were clunky and formulaic at best. It speaks volumes that by far the best bits of star wars were never the movies. Even more so now that it's being written by social justards, but even back in the day, the games and books were always waaaay better than the films.
