Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I guess morals are easy to throw out the window when you get paid pennies and when you think you're sitting pretty in a nice clique.
It really is amusing when you consider every single moral-fagging kickvic VA has worked on multiple ecchi projects/try-hard 18+ comedies like Panty & Stocking/Shimoneta. The irony of these clowns trying to act offended after the shit they've been in. It's just people in glass houses throwing stones, that's been KV from day 1. Here's just a few projects I can list off the top of my head from the past 8 years alone.

Sekirei) - Colleen Clinkenbeard/Leah Clark/Jamie Marchi/Monica Rial/Josh Grelle/Kara Edwards
-Classic as fuck ero series, but... getting more awkward to watch the higher I get into my 20s.

Maken-Ki!) - Rial/Marchi
-More sub-18 high school antics, the OVAs are basically just porn.

Valkyrie Drive) - Rial/Marchi
-Jail bait high schoolers fight with the Power of Lesbian, it's blu-ray specials are basically porn.

High School DxD) - Josh Grelle/Actual-Pedo Scott Freeman/Marchi/Clark/Clinkenbeard
-Tit-teasing high school girls, you probably already know about this one, it's pretty big.

Monster Musume) - Rial/Brittany Karbowski/Emily Neves
-Naked monster girls aplenty, many basically under age.

Fate/Kaleid) - Karbowski/Neves
-Under-age loli magical girls, with OVAs that even Sentai considered to be too NSFW to license.

Umaru chan is kick vic?!?! Noooooo!

I've been reading how Japanese business relationships are more important than short term hits to reputation.

The Japanese will ride out this kind of thing. Apparently some relative of Fukunaga was instrumental in getting the licenses, and Fukunaga's in Sabat's back pocket.

Whatcha gonna do bout it? The mean girls clique wanted Vic gone, the actual sex fiend probably egged them on to do it (while he stayed a bit in the background) and Funi decided to play ball with the clique and the manipulator in the background.

Man, I don't know how Funi keeps DBZ without throwing Sabat to the wolves at Toei.

Scott Freeman
I still remember his commentary from season one of Hetalia where he was joking with Tatum about using force to coerce someone to do what they wanted. Literally used the line "Hey baby, let's not turn this rape into a murder" and they both laughed. Also both mentioning how much they loved working on a show that basically offends everyone.

Man am I glad the Hetalia dub came out when it did because it would have never been half as funny released today with all the sjw so quick to be offended. The audio commentaries made all the VA sound like they had a lot of fun letting loose and being as offensive as possible, how the times have changed.

Yes we're all human.....doesn't change that humans can be lying sacks of garbage. Also quit being a hypocrite

It's fun only for them. When anyone who isn't part of their circle jerk gets raunchy too, especially if they dislike that person, suddenly and conveniently it becomes inappropriate.
I wonder if the normies looked at all that raunchy material, if they would think it was inappropriate too and how fast they would try to justify their behavior by saying that people don't know how to perceive a joke.

Ugh. It could just be me, but all of that crap you listed are series that I find horribly distasteful. It gets hard to stomach an anime when I'm constantly pelted with tits and ass to the point where it becomes the focal point and overshadows literally everything else about the show including harems that give the female characters the collective intelligence of a cow and an unremarkable nobody dude just happens to be such a big daddy mac that he makes all the women in the show throw away their common sense. It's like that for a lot of shows and it's a rinse and repeat of the harem genre. This also applies to the reverse harem shows, I can't stand those either.
I wonder if Marchi, Rial or Clinkenbeard and the others did so many of these shows because they were the only ones willing to debase themselves into voicing these roles while everyone else had too much self respect.

The unfortunate outcome of this case is the push to use anti slapp to strengthen and embolden metoo claims probably followed by what will be called Vic winning due to his funding from the GFM and his relative ability to do a sustained appeal fight.
I mean everyone with a brain sees how bullshit this law is, and other states have repealed it. I wouldn't be surprised it Ty actually tried to challenge it before round 2 starts.

This whole thing started because Vic and his supporters were considered less than human, you dumb broad.
Some people are more forgiving than others but this here predicament is proof that actions do in fact have consequences and exceptional sluts can't hide behind #MeToo to absolve them of their responsibilities.

Did Doug broach how he was wrong and went off on Vic for being obviously guilty?
Late and gay, but nope. They just had a wholesome conversation about voice acting, Vic's career, how he became a Christian, and Vic played some songs in his piano (not in this particular order)
Hope the people got refunded.
I hope they don't. Better learn the lesson, and properly identify the actual grifters

Also, some of them don't host 18+ panels reading raunchy fanfics?

WILD. They doxed Vic Mignogna, too!

BTW: She has 50.000 twitter followers, but can only muster up 10 or so likes per tweet.
This is the KiwiFarms, lady. We dox everyone.
Why is it the blue checkmarks the more exceptional of the bunch?
The transcript of the mediation order telling the plaintiff and the defendant and possibly the people watching that THIS IS NOT AN ANIME is funnier and more interesting than who is bad and good within the iswv community. There is a little discussion of the mediation but its like 10 pages back. I went back 20 pages in this thread and didn't find the transcript and that thread you linked is entirely speculation about the case with very little actually in it. My point was that the people posting hundreds of times in this thread are too obssesed and miss some of the funniest parts of this case. There is nothing in existence that is so funny that is deserves 2835 pages in like 6 months. I really liked the judge telling the weebs to get fucked because this is real life because its so damn wacky. That is what a thread should be made up of. I know the posters here will never change and there is no point trying to make this thread funny or even readable again. This thread is 2500 pages past salvageable. I'm just sad because something that should be really funny is impossible to get to. KF is meant to be a place you can read an archive of something but I will never be able to read such a thing for this situation. Im never posting or reading this thread afterwards so you can go back to your pointless 20 page long discussions in peace.
And nothing of value was lost...

Lmao calm down
gotta be honest. I'm a fan of anyone that goes head to head with these fat whores that have no talent. I never knew who the fuck Vic was, I dont watch dubs, I think anyone thats a VA has no talent. But I hate them fat fucking cunts. I've been following this from the start. I had great hopes. Nekk minute, Ty loses the case and Marchi is dismissed and now Nick is trying to move on without moving on....

for such a slam dunk case -- Chupps surely thought Ty was a stupid cunt

When will the infestation end?

I literally argued with someone over a time Tatum made a sexual joke towards Vic out of nowhere on a panel (cannot remember exactly what it was at the moment, it was a while ago) vs the jellybean joke and they justified Tatum's joke with "well Vic thought it was funny, Monica was uncomfortable. Therefore Tatum's joke was alright and Vic's was inappropriate"

Dunno. We may only be looking at the downsides.

Nick went into the mechanics of TCPA appeals on his stream last night. Defendants will be in court for a long time to come and paying their own legal bills along the way.

I appreciate the finality of a verdict but realize it can be hard to come by. The TCPA guarantees a certain measure of justice by treating the defendants to a faceless, neverending bureaucratic process. Doesn't matter if the Judge throws out all the causes of action or not, they're stuck in this Sarlacc Pit until this settles.

I'd fund that all the way to the Supreme Court.

One other thing Nick talked about is the number of Vic supporters that are out there. The number is not currently known, but it's a matter of concern for the Judge. He's talking about healing the community through a mediated settlement.

The GFM has about 5,000 backers. In non-profit fundraising, a good appeal converts about 1% - 3% of your total target audience. That's a good yardstick for understanding how VicKicksBack has performed.

Let's say 10% of Vic backers have contributed to the GFM, that would mean he has the support of about about 50k anime fans. If the real number is only 3% (which is more likely,) his total number of supporters is more than 166,000.

These back-of-napkin estimates don't mean much except to say there's a sizable anime audience who wants Vic to win. KickVic is doing everything they can to dramatize Monica and Jamie's struggles, but I see no evidence of comparable support for them in the community. Given time, as all the online hysteria dies down, proceeding with this lawsuit becomes a lot harder for them to justify. Cliques depend on continuous opportunities for the queen bees to assert their authority, I don't think they will enjoy a situation where that never happens.

Not to mention, when Vic prevails on appeal, they still have litigation to look forward to.

all people are equal, but some more than others.

That's some stupid fucking logic. So if Monica was uncomfortable, why the hell did she not say anything to express her discomfort? She certainly thought it was funny at the time.
Did she decide to just suddenly revoke the fact that she thought it was funny because she wanted to use an innocent joke to try and destroy a man's life? Pretty sure she did.

You're not going to go into details on Shimoneta? The show about a society with repressive rules where no one is allowed to talk about sex due to its theoretical harmful effects on culture and daily life. (Basically the anime industry's big FU to the Tokyo government trying to crack down on ecchi and porn) Which features Monica in a role as a one note character who spends all series trying to rape the main character (in private) and otherwise talking about how he gets her wet (in public).

If it's the character I think it is, she's the most chaste, most repressed of all of them, whose parents were instrumental in the outlawing of all that shit in the first place. The thing is, she's a... 16? year old girl who has NO IDEA what sexual arousal is, yet alone what sex is, what how babies are made, et cetera. Literally, the censorship is such that the kids don't even know the basic functions of biology -- they wouldn't even know how to have sex if they wanted to.

So when she falls for the main character and starts becoming aroused by him, her reaction is to go ABSOLUTELY BUGFUCK NUTS because she has no earthly idea what those feelings are and how to express them.

I've never watched the dub, because uh, dub. But there's the infamous cookie scene. And uh... Monica's voice does not really fit that character.
