I agree that single-stall restrooms are a better idea, and that it's difficult to impossible to police restrooms. But I don't see why we can't just go back to how it was before the trans movement started declaring women's boundaries to be worthless and make it unacceptable for men to enter the women's bathroom unless they flawlessly "pass". Like, if a troon passes so well that no one will notice them... it's still a violation and it's still nasty as fuck on a personal level (like, they're a gross man for violating women's boundaries), but you can't really stop them so that's kind of whatever. But just throwing the doors open and going "hey men, come violate women's spaces!" is disturbed.
I really don't believe the solution is to make women's restrooms a thing of the past and declare them all "gender neutral". Why should women suffer and many women be barred from public life (again, many women cannot share bathrooms with men) so that men can get their jollies being where they don't belong? Why not have a "biological female restroom" and make the men's bathroom the "all genders" bathroom?
Thing with the locker rooms, sports teams, shelters, etc. is that if we let the troons in the women's bathroom and capitulate to them, they just push the issue - "you let us in your bathrooms, why is the locker room different?" then "you let us in your locker rooms and bathrooms, why is the rape crisis shelter any different?" You can't give these men an inch, they'll take the length and breadth of a football field.
But the bottom line is that the trans movement and trans people don't want spaces of their own. They want women's spaces. And they need to gtfo.
