I don't hold out much hope for Desmond. He seems to be pretty autistic to me. And he's been brainwashed into the cult as well. I don't think he really has the mental capacity to reflect that deeply on what has happened to him. If you watch interviews, he can speak pretty eloquently on drag / gay issues like he's rehearsed his answers a million times, but if you ask him normal questions he kind of stammers around and doesn't know what to say. He isn't coming up with his brilliant answers --he is coached. Best case is Desmond gets tired of doing it and moves on to something else and his parents won't be able to pimp out their kid anymore.

I also wish I had the same optimism about pedophilia. They've certainly tried it before (look at Brooke Shields and Pretty Baby and those bathtub photos of her as a child that were published in a magazine). It failed, but morality was still en vogue at the time. In a post-morality era, I'm not so sure we're going to be able to smack it down as easily. To me, that will be the real litmus test. If people don't push back -- and I mean push back hard -- against this MAP (pedophile) movement, it will be the death of any decent civilization we have.
