Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Not really. Nothing on this board has any real world effect, really. As they say, "nothing of value has been lost." That goes for my posts the same as anyone's. If you get butthurt over pixels you have issues to work out.

"Butt hurt over pixels." Why are we even having this thread then? It seems like a lot of people are "getting butthurt over pixels," or we wouldn't even be having this conversation, and A&H would be left just the way it is.

There's a massive difference between having something deleted because it violates some written, and well defined rule, and having something deleted just purely because some person didn't like it purely based on their own opinions on the topic.

I get the feeling you will end up banned if you can't get past this.
Even if you were right, then what? Null and a council of enlightened admins convene a Meeting to determine if that post should have been deleted?
Kiwi farms doesn't have the resources even if null wanted to do that.
Unless it's egregious, generally you have to roll with the punches.

1. I assume it would not be arbitrary, but based on a fair system of rules laid down by Dear Leader.
2. I would roll with it, not in the least because some moderation is definitely needed in my opinion and I don't need to be right all the time. I do recognize I can be autistic at times.

If Containment board is not fulfilling its purpose of containment it will break and shit will flow everywhere, and Containment board will not work if denizens are not satisfied with how Containment board works.

TLDR: if you try to make Articles and Happenings more normal, you will in effect ensure that instead of being walled of autists will spread out like guerilla and you will have shit everywhere

I did not have tts access when I posted that. Now I do, for some reason.
My post immediately before being banned was saying you have to just accept the moderators rulings to keep the site running, which is ironic? Funny? Sad?

So he is making another sock and making it obvious ? that is really dumb, and i say that as somebody who got banned on one forum while having profile pic of Manstein and i had the bright idea to register my alt under the name General Patton. and also ask if we can see moderator log because banning that guy (who was in actuality me) sure had to result in some funny logs.

TLDR he is more tarded than me, And i sure as hell can be dumb
