What happened to you Cracked? You used to be cool.
Didn't Cracked go out of business? I don't know.

Anyways I'll summarize the video for the people who don't feel like watching it; cancel culture doesn't exist because the people who usually get cancelled are still working and have strong careers even after facing backlash (Mel Gibson, Dave Chapelle, etc) and that cancel culture has always been around because guys like Eddie Murphy and some newscaster who said that blacks were better athletes than whites because of slavery got publicly called out for their comments back in the 80s.

Here are his sources for anyone that's interested: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rb-MMWZSa25hqOg7rEk_4iI2VFYBTwX-6CkoSSpMadY/edit

Dear Cody Johnston:

Feel free to explain Carson King, you faggot.

Or alternately, just neck yourself.

Love,
Cappy

Cody, even when Cracked was actually funny, was always the worst and least likable columnist next to Adam Tod Brown. I swear the worship of comedians as wise truth tellers created this trend of ideologues stomping on the craft.

Cody Johnston (of Cracked “fame”) uploaded a new video where he cries about the idea of people criticizing cancel culture for a half hour.

Cancel culture don’t real.

Also, everyone will try to get you fired or deny charity money for kids with cancer over shit you say, but that’s totally cool because it doesn’t always work.

Just because there are high profile exceptions doesn’t mean that people don’t try that shit at every opportunity. How many bar complaints has Nick Rekeita gotten again? Dankula has literally been turned down from jobs the second the interviewer recognized him.

The problem with cancel culture isn’t based on its results, although I’d argue that its impact is greater than this asshole is admitting. The issue is that people seem to be okay with the idea of someone having their life destroyed for the things they say, and with stunning regularity, enough people feel strongly about it to actually contact places of work, or business prospects, or resort to actual court-defined harassment over words or deeds that offend them. Which, I might add, are often grossly misinterpreted or outright lied about to begin with.

That’s not even touching the chilling effect it has, or the disturbing idea that is being pushed (and tried in some cases) of you not being able to access your fucking money if you have the wrong thoughts.

So fuck you, discount Charlie Day. As someone pointed out earlier, you’ll be singing a different tune once your decade old shit gets dug up.

Also, what the fuck is has caused everyone to buy into the insanity that someone middle age or younger is even remotely the same person they were a decade ago? I’d love to go punch that version of me in the face and set a few things straight, and yet, there are people who insist that those mistakes are the entirety of who I am today. Even from a non-political standpoint, that idea is fucking exceptional.

Here's the problem with this.

Cancel culture is a problem not for famous people who have people who are going to defend them no matter what (or who start to appeal to the sort of people who will do that) but for people who aren't famous. Who have nobody to fall back on and aren't that desperate to appeal to those kinds of people.

There was a recent article about all these accusations of pedophilia against people in animation for drawing things that weren't even sexual, and the author outright stated that it's the sort of people they're trying to defend who are going to get hurt in all this. Nobody was actually canceled and the whole thing was brushed off quickly, but the fact is, the sort of people it ought to target aren't going to be the ones who actually suffer for it.

It's like claiming cancel culture doesn't exist because notch is fine. As if everyone has billions of dollars and if they lose their job they can just spend their days swimming around in their money vault like Scrooge McDuck instead.

I can't wait for someone to make a video response tearing this video apart
Doubt they will, the entire video can be pretty much be condensed down into 2 minutes with what he’s attempting to argue.

The only vaguely interesting thing he brings up is the Eddie Murphy thing, which even then was based off of how much he joked about gays in his standup frequently and stopped getting flack for it after he apologized publicly. Celebs say sorry all the time nowadays but that’s never enough and at least Eddie’s shtick was well-known about.

Don't assume the hamster's gender:

Good Lord, they're applying human concepts of gender identity to animals now.

I'm not surprised by this at all, but I am very disappointed. Just when I think the Millennial Left can't get any dumber on the issue of gender, I am consistently proven wrong.

What would the proper woke answer have even been? Let's say this person was willing to stake their job on saying just exactly what they believed. What would it have been?

"Male and female are colonial constructs. Hamsters don't interact with other hamsters of any geno/phenotypic variety. Hamsters with penises and hamsters with vaginas sometimes interact in order to reproduce."

It'll definitely endear them to people if they start talking about animal genitals instead of just using the polite terminology. I endorse this fully.

Playing devil’s advocate, I think the internal screaming was more a reaction to the customer’s assumptions than the hamsters themselves.

It’s still exceptional, but not “smash the hampster patriarchy” exceptional, although I’m sure we’ve already seen stuff on that level here.

It must be fucking exhausting to constantly view the world through the social justice lens like that.

Thing is, I can understand asking about a male and female, because there's any number of animals that if the same sex, especially males, are put together then they'll fight like hell. But most will get along fine with the opposite sex.

Now getting one of each with any kind of rodent is retarded, unless you want pinkies for a pet snake.
