A senile Phil demanding his rightful SS money because he "worked and retired" from YouTube after decades of busting his ass providing free entertainment to billions, and those booksmark assholes never gave him a single pay stub or tax form that he could use to prove to the government he had a business and paid taxes all along (in fact he even paid more taxes!).

As others said, Phil paid his shit off before he left CT, except the condo. This would be smart, but he didn't really change his spending habits so much as he was aware of their finite lifespan. He never really has, its just a combination of expansive income and Leanna being more high maintenance/investment(?) than Khet.

However, several things he did during the move were likely the most expensive or poorly optimized options, because of his haste. If he put those things on credit, the interest would be pretty toxic... Let's see iirc...

- Phil picked the second or third house they looked at. Taken at face value, this seems to mean they looked at one house in FL, then the WAkahndo, and picked that. Phil is the kind of chump that would pay stickerprice for a house if such a thing exists.
- Its likely anything Phil bought he purchased the most expensive options, which would mark things up even further.
- He furnished the house with what he claimed to be heirloom quality furniture because he believed he was setting up a family home for many years to come.
- At this point he's probably also still showering Leanna with shit to keep er happy, so the Soap business is probably eating a good bit of his disposable income at this time. Khet probably only wants toys and clothes to stay happy, which are not that expensive, and she has her own job. Leanna was a dependant, and had delusions of entrepreneurship, ie another potentially huge money pit.
- Leanna didn't have a job at first either, so she was a dependent on him.
- Phil's DVD/BR collection continued to expand during this time. I do not think BR-D during this time were cheap enough to buy 3 for $5 like DVDs.
- Phil was still paying out of pocket for his games instead of waiting until someone gives it to him.
- Eating out all the time.
- Statues and shit

DSP's financial woes stem from his dual home ownership. Especially the WAkhando where he slipped that he spent almost all of his savings moving to Washington where he was expecting to keep making his Fuck You Money although his views were declining and ad revenues were starting to dip.

Phil is a man without a plan. He enacts financial decisions using his gut which is the worst thing you can do. You can use your gut feeling to calculate risk and make an educated decision about what you should do in many aspects of your life... but hoping and dreaming that your heydays of YT will last forever and therefore moving to an upper-middle class suburbs in a state that has competitive tech salaries is one of the most idiotic things you could do.

The reason why DSP is disgusting to so many people has always been his entitlement. He refuses to downsize the quality of life he defined for himself 4-5 years ago since he believes he is owed this lifestyle since he worked so hard for it. That's what makes him one of the most entertaining lolcows. Mr. Phil "Italian Macho-man Thick Skin Burnell" doesn't understand that he's one of the worst Let's Players! YT has ever produced and that the only reason he's alive today is because of his notoriety.

I really don't think it can be understated how much this man spent on video games in addition to what everyone has mentioned here. Buying brand new games and then selling them back is a massive money pit, doubly so when you have to own every system (and even updates of those systems or new systems because you tend to break the systems you have) and every peripheral and play every game.

I think part of it is that while Phil does like some cheap things, like fast food, he's also super egotistical and obsessed with the idea of looking successful. In his mind, being successful means owning the "best" of things, and because he values money so much, the "best" things are the most expensive, actual quality be damned.

Someone like Phil, who has almost nothing in the way of interests could live a pretty frugal lifestyle and be comfortable. But, he's constantly shown that he has to spend the most money possible on something because of his ego. That's why he'll dump hundreds into headphones without doing any research, lease the most expensive car possible, pay for business class internet that even in DSP's delusional world he insists doesn't do anything because apparently him having a faster connection actually punishes him somehow. When he wants to impress Khet, I'm sure he'll go to the more expensive restaurants instead of his usual fast food joints.

Basically, it is one of the big examples of Phil being his own worst enemy. I think it is also part of his appeal as a cow. Realistically, he could drastically improve his financial situation by just applying the most basic of common sense and restraint, but he continues to make the same mistakes time and time again. He's by no means at the level of financial distress he tries to imply with his begging, but I do think he's hurting and struggling with debt because of his poor spending habits/inability to plan ahead.

All expenses paid SF/convention trips for Rambo and Howard as well as vacations ( no less than 3 in 2013 alone ) and later Staycations with Panda all spent in Suites in Expensive hotels. He ate out most every meal and took Panda to expensive restaurants when she came down to stay with him as well as when they moved to Washington State. He also had his leased BMW shipped across the country.

I'm not saying this is where it all went but it's stupid easy to fritter away big money on a bunch of little shit when you're buying crap online.

Also DSP has freely admitted (if I'm not mistaken) to spending thousands of dollars on mobileshit games. If he dropped four figures apiece on multiple games he could easily blow through whatever Fuck You Money he had.

It wouldn't surprise me if he dumped 10k+ into that Supercard game. Those types of games are chief offenders as far as "Pay to win" goes in the mobile gaming world and I know people who have dropped thousands before even realizing it. Factor in him being active enough to post on the games forum and seemingly trying to rank in events he probably dropped a real pretty penny. He probably plays other stuff as well, I don't think he is checking his email every time he is looking at his phone It's probably some game where he is using his stamina or whatever resources.

I know it's just a thumbnail, but notice the postures. In the Leanna shot he's standing straight and she's leaning in to him (which shows a lot of affection of course), meanwhile in the Kat thumbnails it really looks like Kat is just standing there while DSP leans in... So finally getting around to watching Ask the Manchild. DSP talks about a weed whacker potentially being heard outside and says "they weren't even supposed to be doing that, they were supposed to be doing that yesterday, I have no idea who that even is but". This is an interesting sentence fragment but if he is pretending to not know who is outside weed whacking after saying that he knows they should have done it yesterday...

What I'm saying is do you think DSP has a lawn care service he pays for? Does it come with his WAKhando? I wonder how many of his whales have lawn care services?
