Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

in this thread, various random Kiwis have come up with enough material that would make better SW content than everything Disney has given us so far and for the foreseeable future. How telling is it that we could probably cobble together a trillogy out of all of this and have it be much better what Disney has released?

not a high bar to jump.
You could loaded a box with star wars toys, go to the local playground, and dump them out for a group of six year olds, have them play with the toys while a stenographer keeps notes and describes what's going on, and write a script based on those notes and you'd have something more entertaining and more coherent than the ST.

Filoni seems to have attachment issues or separation anxiety when it comes to Ahsoka. Her death at the right time and in the right situation/circumstances could have been powerful. For example, her death at the hands of Count Dooku could have done much more to fuel Anakin's turn to the Dark Side and his desire for revenge in RotS when he executes Dooku at Palpatine's goading.

Instead, Filoni acts as if he has no idea what do next with Ahsoka's character and she ends up being shoehorned into stuff when it might not be the best fit for her. Worse, she's saved in Rebels via the infamous space/time anus yet her ending there remains ambiguous just so Filoni can forcibly insert her in something else if and when he wants. It'd be one thing if she had a role or purpose in future SW events and media, but this feels more like he just cant let go and wants to include her as gratuitously as possible.

I actaually like the idea, and I'd probably love it if it was pulled off successfully. Snoke definitely came across as a "literally who?" type of character, let alone a villain. If it was revealed he was actually a nobody that was being manipulated behind the scenes by someone far more powerful (other than Palpatine), that would be a powerful boost to the plot because then the question becomes "If Snoke wasn't the supreme villain, who is, and just how heinous are they?"

Snoke wasn't portrayed as a con man or anything else for that matter apart from being Kylo's supposed dark master and someone (rightfully) fed up with Hux's blundering personality. If Snoke was intended to be a con man or a pawn used by someone else, we certainly never saw it on screen.

Oh yeah when I first heard "Anakin has a girl apprentice who disappears for the next movie" I figured she was getting BAD END one way or another, was genuinely disappointed about that.

I don't mind Ahsoka's ending in TCW, outside of the fact that she met Anakin again after she left. It completely devalues their separation, devalues Anakin's turn since he just saw her and knows he's not alone, and adds more to the criticism that TCW feels way too small with how many characters keep meeting each other.

Having her survive in Rebels was just terrible, though. She absolutely should have been killed by Vader. It's a poignant and bittersweet ending that she accepts her death if it means that Vader is just a bit closer to redeeming himself, and it's probably one of the only episodes of Rebels that I would say is outright good. That she came back because of time travel bullshit just makes it worse.

So much this. Having Ahsoka work with the Jedi and Anakin after her emotionally-powerful departure to end TCW greatly watered her departure scene down (or devalued it as you say). It was a shame that TCW was so focused on such a small number of characters that other important characters of that era felt like they were little more than cardboard cutouts that were grossly underutilized.

With Vader supposedly being quite the Jedi killer in t his era, it was head-scratching to see Disney water him down to be anything but and fail in his efforts to capture or kill Kanan and Ahsoka. While it could be accepted that Disney didn't want to have too much sci-fi violence on a show seemingly targeted at a younger audience, seeing Vader thwarted by the ragtag Ghost crew and prevented by time travel from killing Ahsoka to conclude Rebels was absolutely awful. The show as a whole felt as if the villains were as incompetent as those unmasked at the end of Scooby Doo episodes.

To look at it another way, Vader had no qualms in trying to kill Obi-Wan in A New Hope because it was his way to erase a key vestige to his past identity as Anakin Skywalker. It would make sense he'd feel the same about killing Ahsoka -- if not more strongly -- because she'd be a similar vestige of his past. The decision to spare Ahsoka from Vader's efforts to complete the Jedi purge and erase the known reminders of his previous life is grossly out of character. Worse, it felts like Disney didn't care about Vader's reputation both in this era on the whole as someone to be rightfully feared -- once again proving their dislike of OT-era characters and shitting on them any chance they get.

You can't tease us like this and then not give us the answers. I know you for your infodumps, not for teasing us.
Next up, here are some leaks.

1: The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be helmed by two no-name diversity hires with no history with SW or scifi/fantasy whose names are Deborah Chow and to a lesser extent Hossein Amini... This is due to Kennedy's desire to have a female director lead an SW project. Deborah Chow will also be directing a few episodes of the Mandalorian but she'll have complete control over Kenobi...

2: D-O's origin was accidentally leaked in a CNET video shilling the shitty new D-O toy.
It's actually a junk droid that BB-8 made using spare parts he found while in the abandoned droid factory on Kijimi which is the name of the snow planet in IX. He has zero relevance to anything other than being a marketable and toyetic new sidekick for BB-8 to add comedy to the film.

3: The full poster for IX is finally revealed. Version without Rose Tico.
1569641285252.png

4: During SW Celebration, the ship that dropped Rey off on Jakku as a kid is finally revealed, which I talked about being in IX before many pages back. Before I read that it belonged to Zorry Bliss, but it actually belongs to someone named Ochi who I've also spoken about before as his grave is one of the macguffin's in IX. Probably Rey's caretaker or something.
1569640371962.png

The cast of Finn, Poe and C-3PO will at one point find this ship and use it. Knowing JJ we won't know who this Ochi guy is and will just serve as another mystery box.

5: "Rey's Lightsaber" is revealed... Its just Anakin's lightsaber with a gaudy plate being used to hold it together.
1569641165100.jpeg

6: Finally some good news... Dr. Aphra is finally FUCKING ENDING. Christmas came early for me!
1569640951998.gif

Here is the opening crawl of her final story arc. I can only hope this isn't a setup for a follow up series...
1569641332238.png

A Rogue's End... Please let it be so.

7: Crazy Frog aka Babu Frik who I've talked about before in this thread is officially revealed.
1569641559864.jpeg
1569642725036.png

This confirms some of the previous leaks... "A little alien goes inside C-3PO to reprogram his brain so it can read sith runes on a dagger which causes 3PO to go evil"... The sith dagger macguffin is fucking true.

The last leaks were real!

The same leaks also said the following

Rey was being trained by Leia.

The dagger was used to kill a Resistance informant and the dagger's runes conveniently tell you where Palpatine's planet is.

The characters go to Kijimi's old droid factory to find the legendary "Droid Maker" aka Crazy Frog aka Frik who goes inside 3PO and makes him Sith-ish. He is apparently the creator of... droids... Are they implying he makes them or that he created all of them? Why go to some backwater planet just to reprogram 3PO? 3POs are... or at least were... a relatively common model.

BB-8 creates D-O using parts in Frik's droid factory.

C-3PO gets rebooted to read sith runes, effectively killing his old self because they "can't bypass his programming". Wow. What a compelling explanation.

Zorry Bliss finds them in the thieves quarter of snow planet Kijimi while they search for Crazy Frog and she wants to capture them and sale them to the FO, but she finds out Poe is with them who is her ex-lover and she decides to spare them... How convenient.

C-3PO's "death" is a fake-out. He's actually still "alive" with his original personality backed-up into R2-D2... Which means Sith-3PO is his own being... C-3PX what have they done to you... The fake-out is also relevant to another supposed leak unrelated to MSW that also said that 3PO AND Chewie would both have fake-out deaths.

FUCK! THE MSW LEAKS WERE REAL! Now its time to connect the dots with past leaks. The movie is in our hands now hahaha. Time to spoil.

Don't spoil it for the normies until the last big wave of ads a month before. Then SPOIL IT EVERYWHERE, and show how much of a shitheap this film will be.

This is amazing. Truly, a work of art. Like Burning Man.

Except instead of the symbolic purpose of burning the big-ass statue at the end of Burning Man, this is going to be the immolation of an absolute shitpile of nonsense and the world will be a better place for it.

Side note of some relevance, but I've heard that Disney's also been cooking the books about some of the film profits to try and shore them up to fight criticism (Captain Marvel? It allegedly is a non-zero chance Disney bought their own tickets to boost those numbers). Could Disney even pull something like that to make sure IX doesn't fail and completely destroy the future Star Wars plans? Because the parks are a trash heap, that hotel is a joke, the majority of the shows on Disney+ are going to be awful, and if IX fails anywhere close to the level Solo did?

Man, I usually say Disney is too big to fail, but...this could actually make the mouse truly bleed again.

I'll post the rest in a bit.

Although, the 'diversity hire' element of it was a component of it. Debroah Chow is not a no-name. She is "journeyman" TV director, she has paid her dues. Worked on various deparments, has ten years of directing experience. She was also in the AMC director stable, she has worked with Vince Gilligan..

I think it was perfectly fine choice for a limited streaming TV run. I can't stand Kennedy either, but this is one of those women of merit....

I think Hossein Amini is more of a concern. Outside of 'Drive'(lets face it, that movie barely has a narrative), he has bunch of meandering credit....

Lots of experience, but nothing that shows significant talent. Much more concered with him, as a hire, than Chow...

Not sure I can agree with this; plenty of named characters were quite visibly killed in Rebels; the first Inquisitor, the two Imperial officer stooges who got beheaded by said Inquisitor, the later Inquisitors (with the infamous flying lightsabers), Gregor the Clone, Pryce the Imperial Governor, some secondary folk like Maketh Tua and Yushyn, and Maul of course (I hope, at least).

Ahsoka returned and lived by the grace of just one thing; Filoni having the pathological urge to beat his meat to an orange alien.

Isn't that the one that got leaked earlier this year? It looks so bad. It's like a fanmade creation from Deviantart.

Instead, Filoni acts as if he has no idea what do next with Ahsoka's character and she ends up being shoehorned into stuff when it might not be the best fit for her.
I guess he wants her around in each of his projects because for some reason his furfaggotry isn't enough. We know that 3/4 of the 7th and final season of TCW will be about Ahsoka. People are saying that she might appear in The Mandalorian.
She's turning into a Disney Princess™ and I don't like that.

Here is the opening crawl of her final story arc. I can only hope this isn't a setup for a follow up series...

'Obtainer of ancient artifacts', English is not my first language, but 'Obtainer' sounds awfully awkward here. Did they stick a monkey, or worse, Chuck Wendig, behind the typewriter again?

Yes, ANOTHER character who knows our current band of heroes; this galaxy really does feel big, what are the odds huh? Not to mention that Disney might be pissing over their own boots here; Poe having had a female lover won't please the sick fucks who shipped him with the Death Star 3.0 janitor.

As I said way back, I don't think Feloni is afraid of killing her. He desperately wants her 'canonized', the only way to do that is live-action...

I, for one, am glad, they took that damn, fat slug and kept her off the poster, using that stupid alien dildo thing instead.
The poster really sucks, half the characters on it are new and we have no clue why we should care about them.

'Obtainer of ancient artifacts', English is not my first language, but 'Obtainer' sounds awfully awkward here. Did they stick a monkey, or worse, Chuck Wendig, behind the typewriter again?
I guess they didn't want to call her a thief, raider or robber...

You know, with all the executive meddling, the "story group", the Holocron or whatever they call their story bible, and all the continuity, as far as I can tell, being micromanaged as if it were actual university-level history books, it looks like it would be a nightmare to write for Star Wars.

That's why I suspect everyone just wants to branch out and do new characters instead of bothering with the skywalker mess.

All I am saying is, Lucas had no idea of how lucky he was with having a high profile universe and being able to just be creative without suits or pedantic nerds getting in the way. Pretty much every high profile franchise is controlled by a group which is only interested in squeezing as much money as possible.

I can only think of J.k Rowling as someone that created a money printing pop culture icon and didn't give up full control, and ownership to a multimillion-dollar dollar company. And Lucas did it willingly. I feel bad for him for doing this tremendously bad choice. And that's even before getting into the current mess we are with the sequels.
I mean, yeah, why the fuck would JK outsource fucking up Harry Potter to an outside source when she’s proven perfectly capable of doing it herself?

Disney is also currently being investigated by the SEC, so maybe they’ll be hesitant to try anything funny.

As I said way back, I don't think Feloni is afraid of killing her. He desperately wants her 'canonized', the only way to do that is live-action...

I'm guessing it's because he's greedy.
Ethan Van Sciver has said on his comicartistpro secrets channel that he got a cheque for something like 90k because the DCEU movies made a reference to Iron Heights prison, which he created in the comic books.
My guess would be that as the creator of the character, Feloni owns a slice of the IP and gets a fat wad of cash every time the character appears. So of course he's eager for her to be in as much product as possible.

And if he pushes her enough that there'll be a movie about her in theatres, he's going to be rolling in dosh.
