Lowtax has always had a weird relationship with the interenet. Even though he's a fuckin' nerd with no normal hobbies or social outlets (AFAIK) he's only superficially been inolved with internet culture. Other than twitter and facebook, he's never posted regularly on any other community, and he's never involved himself with any goon projects or offsites (tho you can't blame him for the last one.) He likes to think he's above internet drama and culture even though he spent the last two decades trying to monetize a forum. He likes to brag about "not selling out" even though he did. He sold out to the lowest common denominator of humanity and for pretty cheap too, for the luxury of drinking cheap booze, poppin' pills, playing bad videogames, and masturbating to the women's sandals section on Amazon.

All of Lowtax's apparently contradictory actions suddenly make sense when you stop thinking of him behaving as a business owner/stable adult and start thinking about him as an addict.

Sort of explains how he let his own mods and admins practically bully him out of control of his own website. Guy can't handle any confrontation whatsoever, it seems.

At the same time I can totally see him as being one of those people who pretends not to care what anyone thinks, yet constantly Googles their own name and reads forum threads about themselves.

Yep. He tries to pretend it's lazy indifference on his part that he lost control of his site. And he's definitely lazy. But it doesn't take any effort to fire a volunteer janitor. He's just too big a wuss to say “fuck off, you're ruining my site”. That's why he rarely fires anyone unless there's unanimous consensus. Even then, he usually can't bring himself to do it. When a mod or admin fucks up bad enough for removal, he mostly does nothing and lets the mob badger them until they quit on their own. And that's one of the main reasons why his livelihood is in the hands of troons, pedos, and Stalinists.
