Potatoes are rather common in Islamic countries (KSA has the highest rate of genetic disease in the world) and similarly in families in western Islamic enclaves (such as Bradford in the UK) due to generational cousin marriage so I'd be quite interested in what the theological position is, if any. The BBC recently did a piece about some Muslim cousin-couple in Bradford who'd lost multiple potatoes and the wife had kind of woken up to the issue while the husband was firmly in the relgious exceptional individual camp and said it was the will of Allah etc etc and nobody should not marry their cousin because of it.

I know the potato issue in KSA has got so bad and embarrassing that they have now legally instituted genetic testing for all prospective marriage partners. They screen for the most common genetic horrors due to inbreeding such as spinal muscular dystrophy as well as stuff like sickle cell. Seems even ass-backwards Wahabis don't really want that many potatoes around as you'd think.

Well i would think that muslims would want to keep the potato population down especially in less well off nations like Pakistan and Afghanistan. I’ve read that pakistan has some massive “rat people” problem from inbreeding.

I know in Japan, if your kid was a potato, back in like... upto the Edo period and it survived and was functioning, you could send it to a monastery. But often you had to take care of it yourself. Well I was mainly referring to how christianity as a whole has gone through a multitude of degenerate reforms. Protestantism(if you can call what these people are even practicing these days protestantism) has also gone through this degenerate "evangelical" bs which constradicts basic tenants of scripture. Gonna get a little autistic about Christianity here.
1.) There is no Limbo in the Bible. In the old testament there was a vaguely pagan afterlife known as Sheol, where everyone went after death, regardless of their actions in life. Later some of the Jews began to conceive of a good place for good people to go, and the idea that at some late point all would be resurrected from the dead. The idea of Limbo was created by various Christian theologians in the 400's AD and later to give 'good' or 'innocent' unbaptised people a place to go after death, since they interpreted bible verses to mean physical baptism was necessary to get to heaven.

2.) The Bible has nothing to say about what level of human consciousness in necessary to be in heaven in the afterlife. There are some mentions of animals in heaven in the New Testament, but it is unclear if these are to be allegorical. Some Bible verses are used to argue that that baptism or confession of faith is necessary. Others use some stuff from the Jewish Talmud about the age of accountability to say that any significantly exceptional person or child under 12-7 depending on the sect gets a free pass to heaven.

3.) In the Old Testament, death and disability of a child could be accounted as a punishment for some sin of the parent. But this was not universally accepted as the cause in every case. In the New Testament Jesus is asked directly this question before healing a blind man, "Who sinned, the man or his parents?" Jesus answers " Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him " Most Christians take this as a statement that disabled children born now are not caused by a parent's sins. They are either a result of the natural order of the world being poisoned by sin and evil, or God caused or allowed the disability to fulfill some grander purpose we don't understand, or a combination of both. Christian denomiations that believe in some kind of prosperity gospel, (If your faith is strong, nothing bad will happen to you.) may say that a disabled kid, or the lack of healing for a kid, comes from a deficiency of faith, (you just didn't believe with no doubt hard enough.) but that wouldn't keep you or your kid from getting to heaven.
