If i also remember correctly this is against site wide rules. It is just selectively enforced. I only know this becaue there was a whole stink about it with r/offmychest and another sub at the time.

They'll ban you just for visiting subs they don't agree with apparently. At least according to this guy, don't know how they would know that.

I'm very sure it's not looking at it but rather more like posting on the subreddit itself. There are bots that automatically ban you if you post anything on controversial subreddits.

Can you imagine how much time manually auditing posts for wrongthink subs would take away from twitter and hot pockets? It also can't be automated.

They've already started banning a whole bunch of subreddits too (https://archive.li/shS6G). Among the more obvious picks like /r/kike and /r/NiggerDrama (but curiously enough, /r/IHateWhitePeople and the like also got banned), notably /r/Braincels is also gone, all of the Ice Poseidon subreddits are gone, and /r/Drama got put on notice:

EDIT: Sorting the /r/reclassified subreddit by newest posts seems like it's a more comprehensive list of subreddits that have been banned so far. Also, /r/TheRedPill got an actual pink slip (https://archive.li/hoiEF):
